Our spring season is packed with a brilliant programme of events! As ever we have a wide range on offer across all our venues, from music and comedy to drama and dance. There’s plenty of community involvement with four fabulous shows from our local companies, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Sister Act, The Mechanicals and Florian Zeller’s The Mother as well as two youth theatre shows on the main stage. In addition, we will also be bringing back our celebration of work for young people, The Little Stages Festival. For drama enthusiasts we have a chilling new adaptation of the M R James classic ghost story, Casting the Runes. February sees the return of Blackeyed Theatre performing the 60th anniversay tour of the 1960’s classic Oh What A Lovely War; the cornerstone of the modern musical, bringing to life the folly, farce and tragedy of the First World War. For the adventurous, we have two special treats. Firstly, the official record of George Mallory and Andrew Irvine’s 1924 expedition, The Epic of Everest, with a live score by the Frame Ensemble. Lastly there will be an evening with Ranulph Fiennes at the Royal Hall as he recalls his incredible travels and achievements. David Bown Chief Executive
