PROPER JOB THEATRE PRESENTS THE TRIAL SAT 30 OCT 2021 ST. WILFRID’S CHURCH In collaboration with Richard Bean (One Man Two Guvnors), Proper Job Theatre have created a new piece inspired by Kafka’s novel. MARLON SOLOMON’S CONSPIRACY THEORY: A LIZARD’S TALE THU 11 NOV 2021 7.30PM HARROGATE LIBRARY Marlon’s a Jew. This didn’t bother him much until he discovered that some people he knew didn’t believe the Holocaust happened. From 9/11 to shape-shifting lizards and Holocaust denial, this is a darkly comic tale of one man’s journey through the conspiracy underworld. In this piece of documentary theatre Marlon explores why conspiracy theories are more popular than ever; examining how fake news gives fresh currency to ancient slander and how this all relates to current issues in mainstream politics. Conspiracy Theory: A Lizard’s Tale is a one-man, multi-media piece of storytelling; it’s a comic tale which is no laughing matter.

Featuring an all-star cast: legendary Nolan sister Maureen Nolan, X Factor finalist Niki Evans, TV personality Jess Wright and Olivier Award winner Leanne Jones. Sex, diets, men, fashion, chocolate, wine and more wine all feature in a riotous script that promises to be the girl’s night out to remember.



AN EVENING WITH NIGELLA LAWSON SUN 14 NOV 2021 7.30PM ROYAL HALL Spend an evening with internationally-renowned food writer and TV cook Nigella Lawson as she shares the rhythms and rituals of her kitchen to celebrate her latest book Cook, Eat, Repeat. Live in conversation, Nigella will explore how cooking is a personal, intuitive and connecting process, how one meal idea leads to another, and how one ingredient can spawn a multitude of ideas and recipes. Whether asking ‘what is a recipe?’ or making ‘A Loving Defence of Brown Food’, Nigella’s wisdom about food and life comes to the fore.

Face Front Inclusive Theatre presents It’s My Move a show about the transition from school to adult life for young people with mild to moderate Learning Disabilities/Difficulties and their parent/ carers. Face Front brings a team of professional performers who present a multiaccessible play that includes music, movement, drama, Makaton and film. Using Forum Theatre it allows the audience to enter the drama to solve the characters’ dilemmas around transition.

GRAYSON PERRY A SHOW FOR NORMAL PEOPLE SAT 27 NOV 2021 7.30PM HCC Grayson Perry is a normal person – and just like other normal people, he’s marginally aware that we’re all going to die. KATEY BROOKS SAT 18 DEC 2021 8PM STUDIO Katey Brooks is a rebellious artist that resists formula. This ‘rising singersongwriter had the crowd eating out of her hands’ (The Independent). Brooks is at home anywhere she can take her guitar. From the London 2012 Paralympics to Glastonbury Festival, from WOMAD to Abbey Road, Brooks’ ‘devastating vocal talent’ (Just Music That I Like) blends folk, soul, blues and country.


Katey has recorded with Paloma Faith, Imelda May, The Rolling Stones’ Bill Wyman, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd and Brian May – not to mention sharing the bill with acts like Newton Faulkner, Ghostpoet, Deaf Havana and Mystery Jets.

REECE DINSDALE THU 27 JAN 2022 7.30PM MAIN HOUSE Reece’s Pieces… just a bloke beginning to find his voice. Hosted by Mark Charnock (Emmerdale) this will be a joyful evening full of stories and anecdotes from Reece’s illustrious career. Featuring a guest appearance from his onscreen son Bradley Johnson (Vinny - Emmerdale).



ROUND THE HORNE FRI 28 JAN 2022 7.30PM MAIN HOUSE “Oh, Mr Horne! How bona to vada your dolly old eek!” For half an hour every Sunday afternoon, audiences of up to 15 million people would gather around the wireless to listen to Kenneth Horne and his merry crew get up to all sorts of mischief. With its infamous movie spoofs and hilarious regular characters, Round the Horne was one of the biggest and best radio comedy shows of all time and still endures today, 50 years on. So come and take a step back in time to the BBC’s Paris Studios and experience this comedy classic live.

10 RILLINGTON PLACE PRESENTED BY WOODLANDS DRAMA GROUP THU 27 JAN - SAT 29 JAN 2022 STUDIO COMMUNITY PRODUCTION Timothy Evans and family move into 10 Rillington Place where horror awaits them, for fellow tenant John Reginald Christie, profoundly evil, destroys those innocent souls in that dark, cramped, place. Twisted murder results in tragedy for the family, so infamous it changed the course of British legal history forever.
