Hollow Object
I chose my water bottle for my hollow object because it is the gift I recieved from my dad for studying abroad and university, which I will explore the object comprehensively in this task

The interesting characteristic of this object selection is that it can break down into two smaller parts, the lid and the container, which becomes the first challenge I countered. First of all, I try to investigate the details on the components individually, and comprehend which parts of the bottlee are overlapped or hidden. By this mean, I also have investigate how this two components interact in space. The most importent part of this hollow object in this task is to remember the characteristic of both components while ensuring the whole body is well presented.

The part that joins the two components is a spiral design closure, which is hidden when the lid is screwed onto the body. In the first few trials, I ignored the fact that there were parts of the bottles that overlapped. The mistake leads to incorrect communication on the vertical cut, making the bottle into a “close” space.
Also, I purposely left a gap between the inner layer and the outside surface as this type of thermos bottle will have a vacuum space between it to stop the thermal conduction and prevent the content from changing temperature. However, the dimension and scale of the space is all based on prediction.

This is the additional orthography of the bottle lid I drew for clarifying of the inner structure and emphasizing the individuality of the component

This task is the first challenge I faced this semester, as it is a continuous process of practice and perfection. From the start, I am briefly exploring the chosen hollow object meanwhile trying to understand the correct format of the orthographic projection. There is a lot of misunderstanding of the requirements while completing this unfamiliar presentation. To complete the final works, I have drawn several drafts, each with some noticeable errors, such as incorrect line weight or unclear construction lines. Still, the countless trials helped me become more familiar with this presentation method and allowed me to finish the work in less time. For the results, I came up with the two final orthographies that analysed the bottle and showed the correct inner structure.
