Free from chemical additives, Wool Kind™ is the perfect complement to our responsibly made mattresses. Its wool-rich weave creates a luxuriously soft, naturally breathable sleep surface, supporting healthy, restorative sleep.

Our fabrics are wool-rich, and wool is naturally fireretardant. It means all our mattress fabrics exceed fire safety standards without the need for additional FR chemical treatments.

PRESSURE-RELIEVING MICRO SPRINGS, THOUSANDS OF LITTLE COMFORT MIRACLES
Designed and made exclusively by Harrison Spinks, our micro springs are the finest, lightest mattress springs in the world. Because the springs are so small, they can respond independently to tiny changes in pressure and movement. Each mattress contains thousands of ultra-responsive pressure-relieving micro springs. Providing breathable layers that effortlessly adapt to every part of the body. More springs mean more points of contact with the body. This helps to distribute the weight of the sleeper across many micro springs.

THE PERFECT, NATURAL SLEEP POSTURE
We spend a third of our lives in bed. So it’s worth spending a few minutes to help customers find the right one for them.
The wrong kind of mattress results in poor sleeping posture and incorrect spinal alignment. This not only impacts the quality of our sleep and wellbeing, but can cause painful back, joint and neck problems.
JUST RIGHT
The spine is aligned in a neutral position. Shoulders, hips and knees are supported.
TOO SOFT
When the arch of the spine dips into the mattress. Putting pressure on the hips and lower back.
TOO FIRM
Hips and shoulders sit on top of the mattress, instead of being supported in it. The spine bows upwards, causing discomfort.

Every mattress in the British Luxury Collection is expertly handcrafted by skilled and highly trained artisans.
Our skilled team use traditional bed-making techniques to hand sew, side-stitch and tuft every mattress. Many have worked at Harrison Spinks for years and have fine-tuned their craft over this time.
We believe if there is something worth doing, it’s worth doing it right and can’t be rushed.
HOW LONG CAN IT TAKE TO MAKE A MATTRESS?
It can take up to 8 hours for one of our expert bedmakers to hand-side stich just one of our British Luxury Collection mattresses.

Natural fillings
Here at Harrison Spinks, we are the only UK bedmaker to grow our own fillings on our own 300 acre farm. All of the natural fibres used in our mattresses are used for their excellent temperature regulating and moisture absorbing properties.
British Wool
Soft, springy, naturally antibacterial, and inherently fire - retardant ,its remarkable ability to regulate temperature and is naturally moisture regulating, which means it keeps sleepers warm in winter, cool in summer, and comfortable throughout the year.
We’re proud to be the first bedmaker to partner with British Wool to use 100% traceable wool sourced exclusively from UK farms. Through the Traceable Wool scheme, British farmers also receive a premium price for their wool.
Natural Fibres
Homegrown on our own Yorkshire farm and sourced from a cooperative of local farmers. Strong, breathable, and naturally resistant to mildew, their durable fibres are excellent at absorbing moisture making it an ideal ingredient for a naturally comfortable sleep.
Flax
Grown locally including on our farm, flax is the plant used to make linen. As a mattress filling, flax brings a unique combination of strength and softness. Up to three times stronger than cotton, it offers a lustrous, breathable, and highly absorbent layer that enhances comfort and durability.
Cashmere
Renowned for its supreme softness and exceptional insulation, cashmere is a luxurious natural fibre that adds warmth without compromising breathability.
We’ve partnered with Alex Begg, a Scottish manufacturer of luxury woven accessories, to upcycle their clean, high-quality textile offcuts.
Mohair
Mohair offers a finer, smoother texture than wool, bringing an extra touch of luxury to the sleep experience.
Silk
Silk is the strongest natural fibre and one of the most luxurious. Found in our finest mattresses, this soft protein fibre offers exceptional comfort with a naturally smooth, sumptuous feel. Its excellent moistureabsorbing properties help regulate body temperature, making it the perfect choice for a cool, dry, and indulgent night’s sleep.
Alpaca Fleece
This luxuriously soft, durable fibre is like sheep’s wool, yet its warmer and has no lanolin, which makes it hypoallergenic.
Yorkshire Dales Wool
With the same properties as British Wool, Yorkshire Dales Wool is sourced from our own and local farms giving a more luxurious and softer feel.
Egyptian Cotton
Egyptian cotton has longer, finer strands compared to ordinary cotton. This gives it a superior feel and its effective at removing moisture.
Hand-teased Horsehair and Horsetail
Sumptuous and soft, each strand of horsehair acts as a tiny spring, providing the ultimate comfort. As hair is hollow, every strand acts as a tube channelling away moisture and letting fresh air into the fillings.
Herdwick Wool
With the same properties as British Wool, Herdwick Wool is sourced from the North of England making it very resilient giving supportive comfort.
Natural Cotton
Cotton is soft, durable and highly absorbent which means its good at wicking moisture away from the body, keeping you fresh and cool.
Tree silk Cotton
The strongest of the natural fibres used in our mattresses. It has natural moisture absorbing qualities, which helps regulate body temperature.

WHY WE LOVE NATURAL FIBRES
Our homegrown natural fibres not only absorb moisture - they also absorb CO2 in huge quantities.
During its rapid growth cycle (100-120 days) our Yorkshire grown natural fibres absorbs between 10-15 tonnes of CO2 per hectare.
