NURTURING TALENT
Jack’s story
Jack joined us in 2011 as a Lamination Operator. Actively enhancing his skills, he transitioned to our Technical Department during the launch of new products, earning an HND in Engineering. His journey led to a promotion to Product Engineer, and he now serves as our Product & Innovation Manager.

Developing Together
Development at VEKA comes in many guises, from learning on the job and from those around us, to formal training that stretches our thinking, as well as opportunities to explore the many roles within our business. The clearer you are on your ambition and your commitment to support that, the better we are in helping you get there.
If you want to develop, we encourage you to get out of your comfort zone, to lead meetings, lead business projects and study for professional qualifications. Take control of your learning and together, we can be the best we can be.
VEKA has big growth plans in place, as part of our 5 Year Strategic Plan.
The business is performing very well…..but we’re never complacent and we don’t stand still. We’re always looking for the next opportunity.
2024 sees the launch of an exciting new product, which will drive demand through existing customers, whilst giving us the opportunity to reach out to prospective customers.
Engagement with Installers is high on our agenda, through our enhanced Partner Programme Scheme, including Independent Network; the original and the best.
We continue to support our long-standing, loyal fabricator partners and look to the market for new fabricator opportunities which align with our values.

Staff Testimonials

Length of service
Just over a year, started November 2022
What do you enjoy most about working for VEKA?
Cheesy, but the people. There’s such a good core but also an appreciation for individuals. Leadership are busy but approachable and my colleagues are always helpful and supportive.
If you could swop jobs with a colleague for a day, who would it be and why?
Technical Service Engineers. My passion is innovation and improvement and I think being in front of the fabricators and feeling their pain and hearing their issues first hand would be a great way to generate and build on ideas to help make VEKA products even better!

Length of service
14 years
Can you describe your typical day or week in your role?
My day is very pro-active, so it can be anything from, helping customers with factory setups, training customers on new products, helping customer with profile related concerns, homeowner site visits, R&D work, testing accreditation.
How has your role evolved since you joined?
I started in Technical with a hybrid role within the office and in the tech workshop, mainly testing products and continuous improvements on products, then the opportunity became available to become a TSE out on the road, this was a step up and a big challenge for me which I wanted to take. I’ve now been a TSE for over 7 years and really enjoying my role.

What do you enjoy most about working for VEKA?
I like the people at VEKA, everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I have recently enjoyed getting the opportunity to interact with our Scottish, Irish and Northern Irish customers whilst being seconded into sales.
If you could swop jobs with a colleague for a day, who would it be and why?
I would choose to swop jobs with Elke Hartleif. Her family has only ever known VEKA, and I would love to see what she does

What first attracted you to VEKA?
I decided to join VEKA as one of their main focuses is developing their people, which convinced me to apply for a job as a Lamination Operator. I joined the business towards the end of the COVID period, at this point I had lost two years of my own “development” due to challenges I had in my personal life as well as the challenging period the rest of the world was facing. After a year in Lamination, I saw the job in Customer Services being advertised, which I saw as an opportunity to take my development to the next level. Thankfully VEKA trusted me and allowed my transition from Lamination to the Customer Service department.
How has your role evolved since you joined?
My role has evolved, and I have been given greater responsibilities as my skills have progressed. My experience allows me to be a key member of the team.

Community & Social Impact
At the core of our operations is a strong connection to the community. With more than 90% of our workforce residing locally, our success hinges on actively supporting and engaging with our community. Whether through collaborations with nearby schools, encouragement of employee volunteering, or participation in fundraising initiatives, giving back has consistently remained a fundamental commitment for us.
Our Environment
Responsible manufacturing is about having maximum impact on our industry with minimum impact on our environment. PVCU is truly sustainable substance and can be recycled time and time again. This is why recycling has become such a crucial part of what we do. After opening the first window recycling facility in the UK, we now divert thousands of tonnes from landfill per year.
Diversity & Inclusion
We advocate for the celebration of diversity, not just as a matter of principle, but as a source of fresh skills and perspectives that support innovation. Beyond that, it cultivates deeper understanding and respect among diverse groups, creating a workplace that attracts new talent.
To build a more diverse workforce, we establish a secure, respectful, and supportive working environment, tailored to meet the specific needs of our people. Proactive initiatives for change encompass targeted recruitment across diverse demographics and active community engagement, particularly in supporting initiatives led by women to promote engineering and STEM subjects.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME, WE HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON.
