REVITALIZING THE HOMES
BACHELOR - FINAL YEAR PROJECT PROJECT BRIEF: HOW CAN WE RADICALLY REIMAGINE CONVENTIONAL REGENERATION TECHIQUES TO ENSURE THAT OUR HOUSING ESTATES ARE REPRESENTATIVE, SUSTAINABLE AND INSPIRING PLACES TO LIVE?
Tis project revitalises a stagnant social housing estate, creating a lively and personalised community experience. Residents are actively involved in the design process, with customisable prefab modular cubicles that adapt to their changing needs. By strategically repositioning houses, the project creates spacious communal areas and interconnected walkways, promoting inclusivity and a sense of belonging. It challenges societal norms that restrict personal space, advocating for residents’ right to tailor their homes to their preferences.
Te innovative reconfguration optimises vertical space, breaking away from ordinary rectangular structures and rejecting gentrifcation. By repurposing neglected green spaces and reclaiming unused ground-level parking, the project unlocks its untapped potential. A central pavilion becomes a versatile hub for community activities, further enhancing the transformation. Tis endeavor embodies community participation and honors the estate’s unique character.

BACHELOR - SECOND YEAR PROJECT PROJECT BRIEF:
THE STUDENTS WERE REQUIRED TO DESIGN AND FABRICATE A PHYSICAL INTERVENTION IN THE SITE, RESPONDING TO THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT FINDINGS, FACILITATING FURTHER COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND DESIGNING THROUGH COLLECTIVE ADAPTATIONS TO THE CHANGING CLIMATE AND SOCIAL TRANSFORMATION.
I wanted to create an intervention that can allow street artists to have a free space and canvas to let their creativity go wild, rather than covering previous artists’ work as there aren‘t enough space, this can allow them to collaborate with other artists with other artists while they paint . Not only will my targeted community will be able to use this space, but also attract any person walking in that area to see this as an opportunity to let enjoy art and painting again.
I’d like to provide spray paints and other painting materials to walk over and add their own touches to the piece. As grafti artists are not always big fan of paper, i decided to also create a table not only as support but also a place for people to paint over as well. To give it colors and be its own individual and special art work. My chosen site is at the end of bricklane, right beside the food stores as it will attract a lot of tourism while people walk through the market, and it is right next to the main walls grafti artists choose their murals to paint over.

BACHELOR - SECOND YEAR PROJECT PROJECT BRIEF:
A BUILDING PROPOSAL TO ACCOMMODATE A COMMUNITY HUB TO MEET THE NEEDS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITIES IN WHITECHAPEL AND THAT FACILITATES “SPATIAL ACTIVISM” TO INVESTIGATE THE ROLE OF ARCHITECTURE IN RESPONDING TO “CLIMATE AND ECOLOGICAL CRISIS” THROUGH THE LENS OF MARGINALISED DIVERSE COMMUNITIES
Te proposal outlines a dynamic and inclusive creative space where people can collaborate and engage with art. It aims to merge traditional grafti with new technology, using laser painting and 3D printing for stencils, while maintaining a sense of community. Te design features a distinctive dome structure, encouraging public participation through semi-open doorways and an outdoor painting area.
Transition rooms provide a calm entry to a high-tech interactive space, combining elements of a gallery, classroom, workshop, and entertainment unit. Te facility teaches people to utilize these technologies for preserving their work, with staf available to assist. Temporary walls are repurposed for a paintballing feld, opening up the site to pedestrians and creating an inviting atmosphere with meandering pathways.

BACHELOR - FIRST YEAR PROJECT PROJECT BRIEF:
WE WILL REFINE A COMPREHENSIVE DESIGN PROPOSAL FOR OUR HOUSING PROJECT, WHICH RESPONDS TO ITS FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS, AS WELL AS ITS PHYSICAL, SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONTEXT.
At the end of this project we will have developed and communicated a comprehensive design for a building, which responds to its functional requirements, as well as its physical, social and environmental context. Tis should demonstrate our understanding of the material considerations of structure and construction, and our response to environmental requirements, as well as immaterial considerations of privacy, social movement, and atmosphere.
We will need to test and experiment with how this design proposal manifests on the site, at diferent scales according to the focus of the experiment. We will need to use a range of media, in 2 and 3 dimensions, using established and newly acquired skills to communicate our design intentions comprehensively and efectively.
