HBV are thrilled to bring this high quality publication to our members and breeders across Australia and New Zealand. Once again, we have a wonderful smorgasbord of stallions providing a combination of fresh and frozen semen via world class studs. Our breeding industry is always facing a range of issues, but our breeders keeps on delivering world class horses.

The performances of Just Believe in Sweden and Lochinvar Art in North America are a great example of what we are capable of breeding for racetrack success on the international stage. The rest of the world is awake to the quality of Australian bred horses and the opportunities that they present. We wish Aldebaran Zeus all the best in his endeavours in the International Trot.

That brings us back to the champions that will be conceived in the spring of 2023. Those conceptions will be as a result of the stallion choices that broodmare owners make over coming months. Many of those choices will be influenced by the Stallion Guide. I therefore encourage you to spend the necessary time buried in this publication to find that consort for your mare so that you may breed your next champion.

I thank our loyal studs for their ongoing support of the Guide. They continue to do a remarkable job bring to us the best bloodlines in the world, along with the best of our local sons who are now at stud.

I also thank our many advertisers who see value in the Guide in helping them to seek the business of our readers. We are blessed with superb companies providing breeders with the services needed to breed a champion.
