PRESENTACIÓN

La Universidad Autónoma de Chile presenta de forma distinta –en este conjunto de libros– las ciudades que hoy albergan sus sedes. Un campus se inserta en un tejido urbano con historia, y éste pasa a formar parte de ella. La Universidad y la ciudad crean una relación simbiótica y de dependencia mutua, aportando la Universidad desde su claustro al desarrollo de la ciudad y la ciudad a la sustentabilidad del proyecto Universitario. Esta recopilación de imágenes y breves textos honran a las ciudades donde hoy transcurre la vida universitaria de la Universidad Autónoma y pone en valor su riqueza arquitectónica, sus lugares más icónicos y algunas de sus tradiciones. Los invito a utilizarlos de guía para así conocer junto a nosotros las ciudades que hoy dan vida a nuestra Universidad.

The Universidad Autónoma de Chile presents in a different way—in this set of books—the cities that now host its campuses. A University campus is inserted in an urban fabric with history, and thus becomes part of it. The University and the city create a symbiotic relationship of mutual dependence, contributing the University from its faculties to the development of the city and the city to the sustainability of the University project. This collection of images and short texts honors the cities where the university life of our Universidad Autónoma is taking place and highlights its architectural richness, its most iconic places and some of its traditions. I invite you to use these books as a guide so that you can learn about the cities that today give life to our University.
