Assisted with special events and projects such as training programs, annual benefits enrollment, and employee recognition Bethune-Cookman University, Daytona Beach, FL GRADUATE RESIDENT LIFE COORDINATOR (01/2018 – 05/2018) Served as the overseer of one of three all men’s residence halls (LeFevre) on campus serving 200 undergraduate men and supervised, trained, and led staff/student organizations, managed group development, student contact and individual student development, as well as administrative and departmental responsibilities.

Educated, supervised and evaluated 5 undergraduate Resident Assistants (RAs) in their responses to the needs of 200 undergraduate men Assisted in the departmental and community processes designed to effectively select, orient and train student direction and fostered and maintained a workplace climate that was supportive of all employees and students regardless of their identity, by being respectful of differences, and exhibiting a genuine openness to multiple perspectives Recruited, interviewed and hired 62 campus RAs for the entire department in accordance with EEO Laws; operated technological systems unique to Bethune-Cookman University and the Department of Resident Life Participated in an on-duty rotation throughout the calendar year to respond to incidents and emergencies as they occurred for a residential population of approximately 3800 undergraduate students Trained undergraduate staff on the importance of safety and security, discovering individual leadership styles and strengths, mentoring and managing conflict Promoted intercultural understanding, sense of belonging in the community through activities, training, supervision, and interpersonal communication as well as planned and implemented in-service activities that served as on-the-job training and that promoted opportunities for personal growth and development for a diverse undergraduate student staff team Assisted staff and residents in establishing an atmosphere and encouraging behavior that ensured relative freedom, quiet, privacy, security and a sense of responsibility in the residence halls, and shaped an environment conducive to academic and personal development Improved the administrative process within the residence halls and assisted in the design and development of various administrative procedures: including openings, closings, room selection, mid-semester inspections, and incident reports Participated in the management of student behavior issues in the halls by responding to incidents, meeting with students, and pursuing appropriate administrative and judicial action as well as provided consultation and referral for students on matters related to resident concerns such as mediation of interpersonal conflicts providing relevant information interpreting policies and procedures

Bethune-Cookman University, Daytona Beach, FL NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION LEADER & SUMMER BRIDGE PEER MENTOR (01/2015 – 05/2017) Served as a leader, supporter, facilitator, and coach to first year students, their families and guest in an effort to provide a seamless transition to B-CU. Provided high quality education, support, and transition resources to nearly 1,200 first year students, including transfer students and international students. Aided family members by introducing them to university resources and areas of support for their students.
