How time flies! It since Stan and Maureen Hickford opened the Harcourts Riverlands office in the Main Street of Huntly in 1993. They started off with a small team of four and watched as the company grew to encompass a much larger team and another office in Te Kauwhata in 2008. I joined the Riverlands team in 2001, fresh faced and eager to learn about all things real estate. I had a young family and my husband John supported me with this new career change. Time went on, I learned a lot and in 2008 John and I bought into the franchise with complete ownership transferring in 2012 less! Stan stayed on as Rural and Commercial Manager and encouragedusasthewecontinuedtogrowourRiverlandsteam.
Since 1993, there have been many changes in both technology and the real estate market but we have always embraced these changes. We have adapted our business to meet the cycles of the market and adopted new technologies as they become available to enhance our offerings toourclients andcustomers.Weareincrediblyproudofour teams, encouraging them through further education and providing the resources to support them as they adapt to the many changes in the industry and legislation. They are always willing to learn and in a testament to their dedication, Riverlands received the Rate My Agent Agency of the Year (2023) award and our strong property management team were the first property managers in New Zealand tobecomeREINZAccreditedPropertyManagers.

Riverlandsmaybearelatively smallcompanybutwearestillhere,30 years later, and have built strong ties within the communities. We appreciate all the support we have had and give back to the community whenever we can. We love our towns and have enjoyed 30 years of memories with the community that has welcomed Riverlandsintotheirhomes.
