my Your Three Days ceremonies

‘Hannah was absolutely wonderful from the very beginning of the process. Her carefully chosen words and style of storytelling meant so many guests commented how unique, memorable, moving and joyful the ceremony was. It was the perfect ceremony for us. We can’t thank her enough.’ Lucy + Dom

1. I create beautiful humanist ceremonies, written with clients’ words/those of loved ones, and led with warmth, gravitas and flair. I love what I do.

2. Not all bespoke ceremonies are created equal: mine are born from a remarkably rewarding creative process that’s genuinely unique to Your Three Days, honed over a decade.

3. I always aim to create and deliver an exceptional ceremony every time: unforgettably authentic, entirely delightful and with as much laughter as there are tears.

4. Guests often comment the ceremony was the best they’ve seen, but don’t just take my word for that. Explore 100+ testimonial pages to hear more.

5. I am a Humanist Celebrant and lead bespoke humanist ceremonies that are wholly non-religious, but you don’t have to be a Humanist to hire me.

6. I’ve done this for 12+ years, training with Humanists UK in 2010 and accredited since, leading 350+ wedding, naming and vow renewal ceremonies to date.

7. I lead ceremonies throughout Yorkshire, Derbyshire, Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire as well as in London and abroad.

my Words and Wisdom bespoke legal wedding scripts

‘We are slightly lost for words at how beautifully this has been written. Thank you so much for putting so much effort into composing this beautiful and amazing ceremony. We are beyond happy and so excited to share this with everyone on our special day.’ Alexis + Hannah

1. Although there are obviously statutory words to be included in any Registrar-led wedding ceremony, there’s considerable scope for personalisation throughout the rest of the script.

2. I work directly with couples, adhering to guidance they’ve been given by their Registrars, creating bespoke passages written with their words that incorporate prescribed text.

3. Once the wording is approved, which could form anything from a short elopement to a more developed ceremony, that’s what Registrars perform on the day.

4. Whilst ‘bespoke’ is a word engaged couples often hear, there isn’t anything more truly bespoke than this unique creative process and the irreplaceable end result.

5. It’s about so much more than ‘just’ creating a ceremony script: reflection, discussion and expression capturing your relationship, journey together and hopes for the future.

6. All my writing is informed by advice given by the General Register Office as well as 12+ years of professional writing experience creating bespoke ceremonies.

7. I can work with any couple, anywhere in the UK, who would like to realise the potential their Registrar-led script has to delight and inspire.

bespoke readings

‘Hannah took the time to ask questions, getting to know our style so the words truly reflected us. She coaxed feelings about our new baby, family and each other from us - the best balance of love, warmth and humour too.The result was wonderful.’ Jenny + Graham

1. My bespoke readings come in all manner of styles and sizes, written with your words and/or those of nominated loved ones and suiting any ceremony.

2. Christening or naming readings, enriched with the wisdom of their grandparents perhaps, might celebrate a newborn’s arrival, embody a child’s personality or a family’s dynamic.

3. Wedding readings could take a couple’s own words as inspiration, or those of family and/or friends, incorporating their love, advice and hopes for the future.

4. Funeral or memorial readings offer the bereaved an opportunity to express their sadness, share cherished memories and capture the spirit of their loved one lost.

5. I create standalone pieces, themed texts and mirror-image pairs, either with original structures I’ve devised (and can explain to you) or tailored entirely to order.

6. Not only versatile and cost-effective, their size belies the farreaching impact bespoke readings have in the way they personalise, heighten and enliven any ceremony experience.

7. Involving loved ones, by inviting them to participate in such a rewarding process before the day itself, also enhances the whole event in myriad ways.

‘There aren’t enough superlatives! Our wedding ceremony wouldn’t have been as good without Hannah. With great skill, she wove together contributions from ourselves and others close to us, bringing our love story to life. Many guests said it was the best ceremony they’d ever attended.’

1. By bringing all that’s most elemental to the fore, either of these sections of text could play a vital role in making any ceremony yours.

2. A ‘Story so far’ in a wedding ceremony or vow renewal might explore the journey of your relationship and the milestones that have shaped it.

3. A ‘Story so far’ in a christening or naming might share your experience of parenthood to this point and the difference your baby’s arrival has made.

4. Or we could focus on ‘The Why’: what marriage represents to you, why renewing your vows matters or all your child means to your family.

5. As with all my writing, creating these passages is as much about the resonance of the incomparable process, as it is about the resulting quality.

6. I ask contributors to answer individual questions privately, then I intertwine their words seamlessly, so the first time a client reads them together they delight.

7. Usually coming in at anything between 800 and 1,600 words, either section would be created to order, perfectly complementing any ceremony type, length or structure.

declarations, vows and ring exchanges

‘We knew the sort of thing we wanted, but it was Hannah’s amazing ability to ask the right questions and craft the right words that made it a reality, building a ceremony that was so poignant and altogether perfect. The number of compliments was staggering.’ Beth + Ian

1. Beautiful bespoke declarations, vows and ring exchanges can find a perfect place within almost any wedding ceremony – dovetailing with any necessary legal wording without issue.

2. Declarations are when you share specially prepared words with one another for the first time before your vows, but with my creative and editorial support beforehand.

3. Bespoke vows are one of my favourite things to write and work I’m often most proud of: whether shaped as statements, question and answer or full repetition.

4. Ring exchanges can take many forms: whether short and sweet or something more elaborate, explaining the significance the act of exchanging rings has for you.

5. On such an important day, this is a profound way to make your wedding just that, capturing all your emotions in that moment in time.

6. Even if these are the only bespoke elements in your wedding ceremony, they will have a significant effect on the impact of the whole occasion.

7. By going bespoke, the process becomes as rewarding as the end result – an opportunity to really clarify what matters most to you both and why.

my Words and Wisdom symbolic act writing

‘I knew of everyone I’d spoken to that Hannah was the best person to ensure we had the special personalised day we wanted. She beat all our high expectations. The day was everything we had hoped it would be and we would highly recommend her.’ Michelle + Jamie

1. There are all kinds of different symbolic acts that have a visual impact and add meaning to ceremonies such as weddings, namings or vow renewals.

2. However, there is also a further opportunity, often missed, to add resonance and depth to any symbolic act by including bespoke wording with it too.

3. The thoughtful bespoke writing I create for this purpose can be written with your words and/or with those of nominated loved ones, family and/or friends.

4. So if you wanted to ask your parents to lead a hand-fasting, I could write an accompanying passage written with their hopes for your union.

5. Or if inviting guests to tie wishes on a naming tree you’re planting in your garden, I can capture all that tree represents to you.

6. All the words I write with are woven seamlessly together into one memorable whole, so nobody need worry that their individual contribution might stand out.

7. It’s an ideal way to involve those important people who mean the world to you, making them feel so proud to be asked to contribute.

‘Hannah went above and beyond to ensure we had the ceremony we envisioned, contributing so much to a perfect day. Guests commented how beautiful it was; we loved how it was so personal to us and our story - everything we could have wished for.’ Alex + Iain

1. My bespoke well-wishings are non-rhyming poems, usually written with the words of nominated loved ones, which can be included in any kind of ceremony.

2. Clients usually choose a trio of aspects they’d like my questions to explore e.g. the difference you make, particular advice and hopes for your future.

3. I then send those questions out to your chosen family/friends, picking out words and phrases they’ve used in their answers to create your bespoke well-wishing.

4. A bespoke well-wishing could provide an irreplaceable final flourish in any wedding ceremony, civil or church, perhaps written with your parents’ and grandparents’ wise words.

5. Or you might ask your children’s aunts and uncles to contribute to a bespoke well-wishing, themed around the bond between siblings, for your family celebration.

6. Endlessly versatile, these engaging texts can be short or long, written with contributions from many or few, read by your ceremony officiant or chosen reader(s).

7. Loved ones are always honoured to be asked for their perspective and insight, often finding hearing their words on the day such an emotional experience.

my Words and Wisdom reception writing

‘We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hannah to anyone wanting to add a personal and unforgettable element to their special day. Thrilled that she’s been integral to two of the most important days of our family life, we’ve no doubt we’ll call on her services again.’ Helen + Simon

1. I create a wide range of fun and thoughtful bespoke reception writing: from individual toasts and speeches, to mirror image pairs and group text pieces.

2. I can write just with your words…with both your words and those of other nominated contributors…or solely with the words of chosen family and friends.

3. The resulting text is always richer than it might have been, because this creative process involves a uniquely special combination of reflection, consideration and expression.

4. Perhaps you’re a newly married couple wanting to do your speeches differently with a mirror image pair, each only hearing the other’s on the day.

5. Maybe you’re a father of the bride who’d like a toast to embody both your own thoughts and your wife’s too, your words interwoven throughout.

6. Or as Best Man, you also involve the couple’s closest friends, each of you performing complementary sections of a ‘The Bard’ text in style.

7. Everything we create together would still very much be yours: your ideas, words and emotions only enhanced by my 12+ years of professional writing experience.

about

‘I’ve been struggling to sum up just how amazing Hannah was throughout. I’m not sure how many times I’ve re-written this, but it still doesn’t seem good enough! The whole process was so easy and her knowledge and skills exceeded all expectations. Worth every penny.’ Becki + Ryan

1. If you’ve commissioned an engagement, family or wedding film, usually the only words that are recorded are either an officiant speaking or more incidental conversation.

2. My bespoke videography writing reinvents what’s possible: enabling you/loved ones to record words that have been pre-prepared so they can be paired with your video.

3. Imagine your engagement film with the story of your relationship so far captured in your own words – gathered and written by me, recorded by you.

4. Or we could match the laughter and organised chaos of your family shoot, with writing that really speaks to all family life means to you.

5. You can even make sure your videographer has wording to rival the beauty of your wedding images, all your anticipation and emotion, prerecorded and ready.

6. Together we can design, create and adapt apt text in whatever form would most suit your film, no matter the style, focus or overall length.

7. You’ll then have a memento to share and treasure, now and in the future – videography made all the more memorable and personal by our creativity.

funeral and memorial writing

1. Finding the right words is tough at the best of times, let alone the worst - the support of a professional writer can help tremendously.

2. There are all sorts of eulogies that I can write: single pieces written with your words or themed written with contributions from various nominated family/friends.

3. Or I can create an entire funeral or memorial bespoke script, written with selected loved ones’ words in honour of your family member or friend.

4. I also offer a ‘Write your own’ service where we can shape the send off you’d like, written with your words, incorporating all your wishes.

5. All my funeral and memorial writing would be an appropriate addition for any ceremony, whether held at a crematorium, in a church or natural setting.

6. Since my focus is always on the person at its heart, my non-religious writing is always just the right mix of engaging, poignant and authentic.

7. Such collaboration, at any difficult time, always rewards beyond the measure of the task itself, bringing people together positively and supporting them in their grief.

‘It’s difficult to know where to start to be honest. From initial contact with this wonderful lady to the day itself Hannah was simply brilliant, we all felt so special. She’s not only professional but a lovely human being. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.’ Alan + Carol 100+ pages of outstanding testimonials | 12+ years of professional writing experience | Anyone, anywhere, can hire me to write for them

‘Thank you so much for your help and guidance with everything. You did such an amazing job and we are so glad we chose you and you chose us. Everyone loved every minute of it! It was everything we could have wished for and more.’ Laura + Nick

1. My ceremony consultancy service means that you can access all I’ve learned over the last 12 years of designing, writing and leading bespoke ceremonies myself.

2. You can hire me for one pre-booked session or several – it really depends how much bespoke help, advice and co-ordination you need and would welcome.

3. You might just want to share your initial thoughts for your wedding ceremony, looking for any opportunities there might be to really make it yours.

4. Or I may take more of a co-ordinator role, bringing together family and friends on your behalf so we can create a bespoke memorial service together.

5. My consultancy service does not involve my being present on the day itself, but I can still help in all sorts of different ways as you prepare.

6. Involving a third party who is experienced, empathetic and enthusiastic, but also once removed from the occasion itself, can bring a valuable insight and perspective.

7. Apart from anything else, sharing ideas, reviewing possibilities and approaching any problem solving as a team can offer welcome support at just the right time.

know about my Portraits in Prose

‘First of all, your drafts need to come with a warning - I opened mine at work and did not expect to tear up so much! Pete and I absolutely loved it!!! Thank you for bringing together our words and creating such a special piece.’ Jo + Pete

1. I use exactly the same process of information gathering, reflection and discussion to create my Portraits in Prose as I do all my bespoke writing.

2. It’s an opportunity for clients to reflect on what matters most to them, involving those they love and putting their thoughts and feelings into words.

3. The key difference is that with a Portrait in Prose I take all those words and create writing you can frame, style or photo book.

4. There’s a Portrait in honour of all life’s milestones: a new arrival, an established family, birthday/anniversary, engagement/marriage, celebrating your life or ‘in memoriam’.

5. We can choose a text length that most suits your subject and design e.g. size medium (approx 1,500 words) works well in a photo book.

6. Photo book text is a popular option, either accompanying pictures from any professional baby, family or engagement shoot or a prized collection you already have.

7. I can work on Portraits commissions from clients based anywhere in the world (individuals, couples or families) either for themselves or family/friends as a gift.
