SAMMY QUAN
PRESIDENT
HEY HEY MONSTERS!
As you may know, My name is Sammy Quan and I proudly serve you as your president for the 20192020 term. I hope you guys are having a fantastic summer break! If you are bored be sure to sign up for some service events! With that being out of the way, for the new term I would like for you guys to be able to reach out to us officers without being scared/frightened. We’re all high school students, and I am just as clumsy and shy just like the rest of you guys! Don’t be afraid to come up to me and ask any questions that you have! Although I am clumsy person, I hope you guys will stick with me throughout the year and let’s have a fantastic term together!
ERIKA ZHENG
Yours Truly,
VICE PRESIDENT What’s Up, Monsters!
Can’t believe this is going to be my fourth year in key club. Coming in as a freshmen I only thought of getting service hours and I didn’t thought there was more to it. I was able to create so many relationships and bonds through key club and because of that I was able to have those whom I can depend and rely on. As you may know, I was treasurer for the previous term, and I’m excited to serve as your Vice President for the 2019-2020 term. My goals is for the upcoming year is to provide the fun service events members can attend as they are the ones that started my key club journey in the first place, as well having a service project at school per term in order to involve more people. I look forward in talking and meeting new members, so don’t be afraid to approach me. Best Wishes,

KEVIN SALIMO
SECRETARY
Good Morning, Afternoon, or Evening Everyone! My name is Kevin Josh Salimo and I am your Sheldon Key Club Secretary for the 2019-2020 term. During my term I will try to get more members in the club, and more members signing up for events. Furthermore, I hope that I can get close to all the members in the club so they can feel welcomed anytime. One of my duties is to record data about the club in a document called the Monthly Report Form. I hope that I can use it to encourage members to get more hours, attend more division, district, and Kiwanis events, and to get higher recognition in the Member Recognition Program. The journey that led me to want to become a secretary was odd since I was not in the club at the start of the year, but that did not stop me from getting hours and getting closer with other members. Joining key club has really made a huge impact in my high school career. I can not wait to see where else my journey goes, but at least I know it will be with Key Club. Sincerely,
KAYLIN XIONG
Hey You!
TREASURER
My name is Kaylin Xiong and I am currently serving as your Treasurer for the 2019-2020 term. I joined Key Club with no strong intention and I fell in love with all the experiences and connections I made in what I now gratefully call my second family. Being an incoming sophomore, I hope to use my term to continue making this second family bigger and full of love and support for the rest of my high school career. For that, I will provide my utmost unconditional support to all my precious members alongside the current board whether it’s monetary or emotional. So don’t be afraid and talk to me @okaylinxiong, about opportunities to share great experiences together! With that said, please look forward to and enjoy this term being in this unique family! ‘Till Next Time Monsties,

HANNAH DAO
BULLETIN EDITOR
Hi There Monsters! My name is Hannah Dao and I am your Bulletin PRESIDENT Editor for the new 2019-2020 term! I am so excited to make these newsletters every month for you guys! Hoping to achieve more and get closer to more members is a really big goal for me. Starting off in my freshman year I was very anti social and thought Key Club was all about community service, but I thought wrong and Key Club has brought me out of that shell. I would have never thought that 2 years later, I would become an officer for this amazing club, full of incredible people. I am super stoked to see what this term has in store for all of us.
With Lots Of Love,
JOLYNN DOAN
MEMBER RECOGNITION CHAIR
Hello!!
My name is Jolynn Doan and I am your Member Recognition Chair for the 2019-2020 term! I am excited to be recognizing and putting a spotlight on members. My goals are not only to do the task that come with my position but to get closer with other members. I hope to improve the club and make this term one of the best! I didn’t think that when I signed up for Key Club at club rush I would be as invested or even become an officer. However, over this school year I was able to learn what this club is about, what they stood for, and how amazing members of this club are. With Monsterous Love,

KATHYTECH TRI TREASUER EDITOR
Hey Y’all !!!
I’m Kathy Tri and I serve SHSKC as the 2019-2020 Tech Editor! In the 2018-2019 term, I was also the clubs TC, being an officer during my last term it inspired me to run again for the current term. I hope I can set a good example for the underclassman and make my position seem both fun and important. Sometimes, we have our ups and downs but we shouldn’t let that impact us so heavily because life is all about second chances! My position allows me to be both creative and sociable. I love taking pictures of members because I see how happy people are to help their community. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and creating unforgettable memories with them. I also plan on creating videos at big events such as Fall Rally North and DCON. I’ll be filming not only our club but other clubs and divisions. I can’t believe this is my third year in Key Club.. I’m almost done. If you want to be friends, just know you can always talk to me, I’m really approachable! I can’t wait to see what this year has in store for us! The One With The Boba,

BUBBLE RUN:
The Bubble Run was pretty fun and tiring. I had to wake up pretty early for it but it got me out of bed to do something fun and good for the community. At the Bubble Run I was in charge of medal distribution for all the participants that had finished the 5K. There were a lot of people and after a while it got tiring as the sun quickly came up on us.
14
It was quite enjoyable though, like seeing how much our community is active and wanted to participate in such an amazing event. Not only were there adults, but what really made me happy was to see the little kids and teens participating as well. Overall there were quite a lot of bubbles and fun!

NCAA TRACK MEET:
At the NCAA track meet, everyone was really in for an unexpected work out. It really felt like we were the athletes for a second. We carried the actual athlete's clothes, water bottles, backpacks, or other items in laundry baskets and often had to carry at least two baskets across 100m on the track and run back around to carry more throughout the entire event.

WOMENS FITNESS FESTIVAL: The woman’s fitness festival was tiring to wake up at such an early time, but volunteering there was a blast. I was in charge of a being a course monitor meaning that I had to direct the runners to a certain pathway. It seemed easy because all I had to do was hold a flag while wearing a bright orange vest and just stand there and wave to the direction they were to go. When standing there I didn’t expect anyone to say anything to me, but i was wrong because when the flocks of runners started to arrive I was appraised
with thank yous and hellos. They thanked me for volunteering because the run meant a lot to them. It made me feel like I was apart of something bigger. Something that meant the world to those that ran for a cause that I at first had no clue what it was, but after learning about it I knew that the runners truly felt great about themselves being a part community that were determined to get awareness. The woman’s fitness festival might have been tiring, but in the end was worth the four hours of just standing there waving a flag back and forth.
