witty and comic design, most notably the theories & styles found in the book ‘A Smile in the Mind’ by McAlhone and Quinton.
Over time I’ve honed my design skills and knowledge to improve and emphasise the combination of hands-on and digital processes. This often produces whimsical, yet thought-provoking outcomes.
Growing up on Exmoor by the seaside has left a lasting impression on me.
It has helped shape who I am as a person alongside my design practice. My hobbies, not surprisingly, revolve around gardening, foraging & jam making, which naturally inform my design process.
Comedy plays a significant role in my design style, drawing inspiration from
I actively participate in local competitions, group projects and work placements that benefit all, as a means to explore new design avenues.
This openness to diverse techniques and perspectives continually enriches my creative journey and enhances the impact of my work within the community.

As Graphic Designers we should...
No 1. Hands-on Practice.
Don’t lose everything to the digital world. Get pen to paper, tear something up, stick it down, paint the town red, then scan it in.
No 2.
Design for Good.
Not everything has to have a purpose or a deeper meaning, but often it should.
No 3. Sarcasm is Key.
Not everything should be so serious. Have fun, be witty and let people wonder if you’re being sincere or sarcastic. For me it’s usually the latter.
No 4. Find a Happy Medium.
Either in style, tone of voice, colour or approach, there’s always a happy medium to be found in one’s design practice.
Placard Design & Collaborative Project.
Trevi’s ‘Reclaim the Night’.
Trevi’s ‘Reclaim the Night’ March was about unity in ending violence against women and girls, with a focus on safer streets at night. Alongside other Arts University Plymouth Graphic Design students I had the opportunity to design placards that would be marched through the streets on the ‘Reclaim the Night’ evening. Following the placard screen printing workshop that I helped run, we took to the streets to demand an end to violence against women and girls.
