A good suit is a must have and a staple in the modern woman’s wardrobe. Whatever that means to you, whether it be a co-ord pant and double-breasted jacket, or a more casual open blazer with straight leg cigarette pant. A suit is a staple that will prepare you for that next meeting, event or important outing.

Styled well it can be a flattering look and can exude a sense of confidence and ‘put togetherness’. It can also be comfortable depending on how you style the pieces and give you that boss girl aesthetic that has become a phenomenon in 2021.

While the style has evolved from the original flares of the 70s, and shoulder pads of the 80s, it is still recurrent on runways - Area, Off-White, Gucci, Celine.

The style allows women to embrace their more ‘corporate’ / working side while maintaining a feminine edge and has been embraced by women such as Hillary Clinton and Meghan Markle.

There are different ways to style the suit and your own style can be applied when adopting one. Pieces can be mixed and matched, dressed up or down or worn as a co-ord. Workplace dress codes have changed in the last decade and many are welcoming jeans and sneakers as the norm but a suit can be equally as comfortable.
