Narrative:

The multimodal hub uses what the citizens of Edmond know: Gable roofs, rhythm and patterns, brick masonry, and visually represent how they can be connected to the future development.

Proportioned by box cars, the gable structure is split by a masonry gateway. Transporting people through what they know, and into what is next.

Application:

The exterior skin is inspired by the pattern style of the Rural Western American Dated Metal Shed.

Relating to the historic train yard site, the pattern is executed through using corrugated metal and channel glass storefront.

The Gateway:

The gateway embodies the future chapter of Edmond. Using innovative and modern materials such as a spider clamp curtain wall system and locally made thin brick. The gateway beacon rises out of the gable structure. Representing the next chapter of expansion while respecting the past.

Gable Roof Geometry:

In order to relate to the current and future city of Edmond, the gable geometry is used both in its original form as well as in an abstraction.
