Background
The football club wanted to reduce costs and hit its sustainability goals.
As the club leases the ground, and short-term leases can often rule out long-term solar funding (PPAs), Bradford City faced a potential block.
Solution
SNRG negotiates with landlords to reach an agreement that suits everyone – and that was the case also at Bradford.
SNRG is fully funding, installing and operating 200kw of solar PV on two roofs of the stadium, through 472 solar panels and five inverters.
Results
This solar system could save Bradford City an estimated £10,000 a year in energy costs, while avoiding emitting 17 tons of carbon dioxide in the first year alone.
The energy generated by the solar panels will help to power the whole stadium, with any excess released to the national grid.
