WHAT’S OLD IS NEW AGAIN 2024-25 SEASON
WHAT MAKES US HIP?
Forget what you know about your typical classical music experience. Since 1815 (no, that’s not a typo), H+H has been a leader in the Historically Informed Performance (HIP) movement that strives to fulfill the vision of history’s great composers with the same freshness and energy that they felt when composing their music.
With vitality and contagious charisma, international star conductor Jonathan Cohen leads the incomparable H+H Orchestra and Chorus in concerts transporting you back in time as you hear the music on the instruments the composers wrote for—woodwinds actually made from wood, gut strings instead of steel, brass without valves, and more. Through a dazzling display of historical techniques, our brilliant musicians share their instruments with us like old friends, creating nuanced sounds that draw you in. With this special spark, even a beloved piece you’ve heard a hundred times will feel like a brand-new discovery.
Get HIP with H+H and join our refreshingly welcoming community of musical explorers this season.
