ESFA Finals An exceptional season for Hampton’s U14B and U15B footballers resulted in both teams reaching the finals of their English Schools’ Football Association Cup competitions. Stoke City FC was the venue for the occasion and over 100 Hampton Third and Fourth Years travelled up the M40 to offer their classmates support. The crowd greeted both teams with roars of encouragement as they emerged from the tunnel. Hampton’s U14Bs came from 2-0 down to force a tense penalty shootout against Sandbach School, ending 4-3 on penalties to Sandbach. The U15s also put in a gritty performance but succumbed to opponents Thomas Telford School after a last-minute goal. Director of Sport, Mr Carlos Mills, warmly praised the Hampton players: “Both finals were played in good spirit with lots of quality football on show. It was wonderful to see so many members of the Hampton community make the journey up to Stoke and help make the day a very memorable occasion.”
