Auction Gala: Set Sail!
It’s all hands-on deck! Every year, current parents, faculty, staff, parents of alumni, alumni and friends gather for an annual auction gala to celebrate and support Hamlin Robinson School. This year, our community, near and far, will jump on board to bid on fabulous items, all in the spirit of raising critical funds to support our students and the educational program at HRS. On behalf of the faculty, staff, and students, we extend a heartfelt thank you as we join forces to ensure Hamlin Robinson School remains synonymous with an exceptional educational experience. We are grateful to the many generous individuals and businesses who contributed items and sponsorships and are honored to be recipients of their support.
Our deepest thanks to our community for supporting our procurement efforts with bounty aplenty, to our advancement team for their efforts to run a tight ship, and to our many sponsors and donors without whom tonight wouldn’t be possible.
Tonight’s fund-a-need contributions will be used to purchase new science and social studies curricula. In addition, one quarter of proceeds are automatically directed to the financial aid endowment. Earnings from this endowment provide tuition assistance for students who would not otherwise be able to attend Hamlin Robinson School. Please give generously so we can reach our goal.
We are proud to further our mission and continue to provide a world-class educational experience to students with dyslexia and other language-based learning difference. When you raise your paddle tonight, you are showing your belief in our mission and the future of Hamlin Robinson School. So bid high, and bid often!
Thank you for setting sail with HRS. Bon voyage - let’s rock the boat!

Ian Lindsay
Ian is excited to be back on deck with Hamlin Robinson School. A Seattle University theatre/philosophy grad, his stage acting days included Seattle Children’s Theatre, Village Theatre, Seattle Opera, and a few others. He’s fortunate to help swab the decks and hoist the anchor on a number of fundraising voyages, as well as some writing and acting ports of call. His crew includes a swashbuckling spouse and two mutinous scallywags scheming nightly to avoid their berths.

Fund-a-need
The fund-a-need is the highlight of our annual fundraising efforts. During the live auction, the fund-a-need is an opportunity for the community to come together and support a special project or initiative within the school. It provides support where support is needed most. Past fund-a-need priorities helped HRS furnish our new middle school, expand technology, launch the Joan Beauregard Endowment for Discovery and Enrichment, and so much more. In addition, onequarter of proceeds are directed to the financial aid endowment to provide access to our program.
Every single donation to our fund-a-need allows HRS to maintain vibrant and dynamic programming.
This year, fund-a-need contributions will be used to purchase new science and social studies curricula. High quality curricula ensures lessons progress in a clear sequence, building knowledge and skills as students move through each grade level. At HRS, out of the box options don’t work.
Our teachers develop and craft lessons with reading and writing levels in mind. We navigate the language needs of our students, honor state standards, and ensure instruction is structured, sequential, and multisensory. Investment in curriculum means investing in our teaching faculty to provide professional development and coaching to support teachers.
The new curricula and supplemental programs will deliver a wealth of research-based print and digital resources to help build and support strong literacy foundations, including a variety of intervention supports to meet the needs of every student.
Every dollar raised will support our faculty, staff, and students. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference - a wide variety of giving levels make it possible for everyone to participate. We humbly invite everyone to invest in the future success of our students by helping build their skills supported by rich, research-based curriculum.

Pacific Spiny
Lumpsucker
Eumicrotremus orbis
Lumpsuckers have a distinctive appearance with a spherical body covered in spines. Small fins make them ineffective but adorable swimmers. It has a sucker-like disc on its underside to attach to rocks, kelp, and any other surfaces to rest and hide. Golf ball sized, we find them between 5 and 100 feet from the Salish Sea to the Aleutian Islands.

Eight Diving Co focuses on safe scuba diving. Our educational approach builds solid team foundations in technique, team communication, and situation awareness with very small classes. We support divers from ages 10 to over 70, from only in Hawai'i to global shipwreck expeditions. We help you prepare for any level of diving adventure - or to stop and look at our awkward swimming golf balls.
