60s 1964 > Robert Mikulak was named a recipient of the 2019 OPCW–The Hague Award by the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

1966 > Lynn Ruark continues to enjoy retirement after working in student services (mostly as dean of students) at Western Seminary in Portland, Oregon, for 35 years.

70s 1970 > Dale Peterson retired from his position as Athletes Committed to Educating Students board president after almost a decade.

1973 > John Downing was named a 2019 fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in the atmospheric and hydrospheric sciences category.

80s 1980 > Elaine Wyatt was inducted into the Minnesota Women Business Owners Hall of Fame by the National Association of Women Business Owners, Minnesota.

1987 > Kris Norman-Major was awarded the Joan Fiss Bishop Award by the American Society for Public Administration. 1989 > John-Mark Schlink was awarded a grant by the Minnesota State Arts Board to support his new print series. > Jennifer Ness Smith was inducted into the Minnesota Women Business Owners Hall of Fame by the National Association of Women Business Owners, Minnesota.

90s 1991 > Patrick Gallagher, spouse of Jodena Olson Gallagher ’91, became a partner in Barnes & Thornburg’s Intellectual Property Department in Minneapolis. > David Law was named Minnesota Superintendent of the Year by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators.

1992 > Laura McQuiston (also MFA ’19) was recognized as a finalist for the 2019–2020 Loft Mentor Series Fellowship in the poetry genre.

00s 2005 > Abdirahman Abdi was named to Minneapolis/St. Paul Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list. > Meghan Bethke (also MNM ’07) started a new position as vice president of fund development at Saint Therese. > Nicole Joy Brunsvold Frethem was elected to the Ramsey County Board of Commissioners on Nov. 5, 2019, to represent District 1. > Junauda Petrus’ novel, “The Stars and the Blackness Between Them,” was named a finalist for the 2020 Minnesota Book Awards.

2006 > J.P. Gritton’s novel, “Wyoming,” received positive recognition from Kirkus Reviews. > Patrick Rieger was cast in “Days of Our Lives.”

2007 > Kimberly Arleth (also MNM ’15) started a new position as product analyst for vendor relations at the American Psychological Association. > Eric Hove (also MFA ’14) started a position as a software developer at Intertech.

2008 > Colin Schulte started a position as senior finance director at OneOme.

2009 > Tanner Anderson released a movie, “The Turkey Bowl.” > Matthew Perushek was promoted to partner at the personal injury law firm of Sickels, Frei and Mims.

10s 2011 > Anisha Murphy (also JD ’14 and MPA ’16) was a recipient of an IDEA Fellowship from the Association of Fundraising Professionals. > Ashley Wirth-Petrik was appointed a New Leaders Council Twin Cities fellow for 2020.

2012 > Jarid Hockert started a position as marketing manager at Timesavers, LLC. 2013 > Katie Drews (also MBA ’16) was promoted to chief experience officer at Avenica. > Haroldly Perez Taveras Smith began a new position as analytics experience senior consultant at Avanade.

2014 > Kendra Boyle Hoban started a position as coordinator for the study abroad office at the University of St. Thomas. > Yakasah Wehyee was elected to the Falcon Heights City Council as only the fourth elected public official of Liberian descent in the United States. > Brandon Zeman started a new position as senior manager of strategy and corporate development at CONMED Corporation.

2015 > Meghan Kober started a new position as senior business analyst at Ameriprise Financial Services, Inc. > Keeren Quayat started a new position as loan portfolio analyst III at NorthMarq.

2016 > Marko Dewhurst started a new position as senior content marketing specialist at Deluxe Corporation.

2017 > Naomi Alemseged was appointed a New Leaders Council Twin Cities fellow for 2020. > Carlye Felton started a new position as a donor stewardship coordinator at Hennepin Theatre Trust. > Rin Heise started a new position as executive assistant at Engaging Schools and graduate assistant of student programs at Harvard University.

2019 > Harrison Jones was featured in an article in LRT Sports’ “The Huddle.”

00s 2004 > Heidi Larson Fisher (MNM) started a position as director of special projects at Larson Companies.

2006 > Geoff Herbach (MFA), spouse of Stephanie Ash (MFA ’07), was named a finalist for the 2020 Minnesota Book Awards for his novel “Cracking the Bell.” > Dave Schaps (MPA) (also JD ’11) was named the 2019 Optimist of the Year by the Roseville Area Optimist Club.

2007 > Meghan Bethke (MNM) (also CLA ’05) started a new position as vice president of fund development at Saint Therese. > Mary Butler Harpin (MFA)’s debut poetry collection, “Shadowrise,” was published by Dos Madres Press.
