In the context of renewable energy systems, the correct use of Residual Current Devices (RCDs) is crucial for ensuring electrical safety. For air source heat pumps, RCDs should be selected based on the specific electrical characteristics of the inverter, including its power rating and operational conditions whilst considering the manufacturer’s instructions. When selecting protective devices for solar PV or battery storage installations, it is vital to ensure that any bidirectional energy flow is considered. Additionally, the assembly rating of distribution board must be carefully considered to handle the combined load of all supplies.
