OMNIE TorFloor2 UFH

At an overall thickness of 28mm (6mm upper and 22mm lower panels combined), the 2400mm long by 600mm deep TorFloor 2 UFH system is a direct replacement for standard chipboard flooring, with precision machined T&G edges making for rapid installation across timber joists or battens. TorFloor 2 has evolved from its predecessor by adding a 6mm thick chipboard upper panel with pre-foiled aluminium heat diffuser. Both panels feature matching routed channels to align around the 12mm water pipe, while the printed upper face indicates the pipe’s position and the points where screws can be safely fixed. The company says its design means that an output of 50W/m2 can be achieved with a flow temperature of 41ºC. In this video the company demonstrates the installation steps involved.

In this new episode PB Plumber tackles the installation of some cast iron rads in a house, demonstrating how to build the radiators on site and overcome some of the installation challenges. To help put the sections together PB uses a dolly to help manoeuver the rads into place, before joining them together. Later in the video he talks through an app to help keep track of each job you are working on using a combination of photos and location data from a phone – providing a useful way to help remember what to bill for on each job.

KNIPEX TubiX

In this video on the PHPI You Tube Channel, Macauley from Smart Pipe Plumbing Services takes a look at the Knipex TubiX Pipe Cutter for domestic use. There is a run through of all the features of the tool, including the cutting wheel, blade changes and deburring tool, before Macauley puts it through its paces. The Tubix cuts from 6 to 35mm pipe with wall thicknesses of up to 2mm. It features a QuickLock one-hand locking mechanism which allows for independent holding and clamping on the tube.
