Kingswood Homes – former Hoddlesden Mill site
Preston-based Kingswood Homes has acquired the former Hoddlesden Mill site near Darwen – a 7.2 acre site that has an outline planning consent for 79 homes. The company is drawing up a reserved matters application, which is due to be submitted in early 2022. Subject to planning, work could start later in 2022. All of the properties at the development will be available to purchase on the open market. Due to the viability challenges associated with the site Kingswood won’t be required to make community investments in the form of section 106 contributions. The first homes are expected to be released for sale in late 2022.

Gleeson – 39 new homes in Abbeytown CUMBRIA…
Gleeson Homes has been granted planning permission to build 39 new homes in Abbeytown, Cumbria. The development, which will be known as Barley Meadows, will see the 4.57 acre area of land be transformed into two, three and four-bedroom semi-detached and detached homes. Construction at Barley Meadows will begin in Spring 2022 with the development’s first releases due in the Summer of 2022.

Harron Homes – 109 new properties in Retford NOTTINGHAMSHIRE…
Harron Homes has completed land purchase on a new phase at its Brambles development in Retford, near Nottingham. The new phase will see 109 new properties built, joining the 113 already on the development. Harron Homes will also be contributing £1.3million to local services and infrastructure.
There will be a variety of four and five bedroom detached homes and all the properties include parking with a garage, a minimum of one en-suite, a utility room, downstairs cloakroom and a kitchen-diner.
