Alarm solutions
Kidde Safety Europe has extended its range to include wireless radio frequency (RF) enabled alarm solutions. The Cavius range of smoke, heat and CO alarms will be offered within Kidde’s fire safety portfolio alongside its Firex and Slick product collections. A highlight of the new range is the introduction of smoke and heat alarms featuring RF technology for wireless connectivity. Alarms featuring this function can wirelessly interlink with other compatible alarms from the Cavius collection within a property. If one smoke alarm detects fire, all alarms will activate, providing occupants with a greater chance to be alerted to the fire threat and escape, regardless of their location in the building.
PERMAROOF
Liquid coating system
Building products supplier PermaRoof, part of PermaGroup, has introduced a new PermaRoof 500 liquid coating system. Manufactured in the UK, the new system has been designed to waterproof a wide range of surfaces – including roofs, gutters, under green roofs and balconies. It also includes an anti-slip option that removes the risk of slipping in wet weather.
The system is made up of a polyurethane liquid membrane, producing a elastomeric waterproofing solution, with an ETA certification for a 25-year life expectancy.
SIKA EVERBUILD Sustainable packaging
Sika Everbuild, a manufacturer of building chemicals, is increasing the sustainability of its packaging by using repurposed or recycled plastic across its core product range. The company is aiming to reduce its use of virgin plastic by embarking on a mass roll-out of new, more sustainable packaging which it anticipates will save more than 400 tonnes of virgin plastic this year alone.
The first phase focuses on a number of popular products, including Stixall adhesive and Fastfix jointing compound, with a view to converting the packaging across more product ranges in due course. Customers will be able to easily identify the new packaging thanks to its dark grey colour.

Timber windows
JELD-WEN has launched Stormsure EXPRESS; a collection of coloured timber windows with delivery from 10-days. Available in six of the company’s most popular colours, and with a choice of black, polished chrome or satin chrome hardware, Stormsure EXPRESS offers a total of 36 design options in a range of sizes and configurations. With a factoryfitted multi-locking system and 24mm double glazing included as standard, the engineered softwood range also benefits from up to 10-year paint, 10-year hardware and 10-year glass guarantees.

External cavity wall solutions
Keyfix’s range of external cavity wall solutions has been awarded BBA Certification and is NHBC Accepted. The system is also approved by both Premier Guarantee and LABC. The company’s range of external cavity wall solutions hold an A1 fire rating and are compliant to Building Regulations Approved Document B (ADB). Manufactured using Class A1 non-combustible Grade 304 austenitic stainless steel, the Keyfix Non-combustible Cavity Tray (NCCT) features a self-supporting, single-piece tray that clips together for fast and easy installation. Self-supporting, the system is installed in the outer leaf with no connection with the inner skin, eliminating thermal bridging and removing issues associated with differential movement and onsite tolerances.

Aerona³ heat pumps
The Aerona³ air source heat pump range from Grant UK has been approved by CEN Keymark, an independent European certification mark for all heat pumps, combination heat pumps and hot water heaters. All of the company’s Aerona³ heat pumps, available in 6kW, 10kW, 13kW and 17kW models, are now Keymark approved which is an accreditation that accompanies the range’s existing MCS approvals. The Heat Pump Keymark Scheme is a voluntary, independent certification mark which is recognised throughout the European market

Kneeguard PRO knee protection
The long-term effects of kneeling can cause prolonged discomfort and restricted movement. Snickers Workwear’s Kneeguard PRO system is a certified, trademarked PPE system for knee protection against kneeling injuries and everyday knocks at work.
The company also supplies different types of Kneepads to fit different types of trousers which suit different jobs on site. For example, D30 Ergo kneepads are made of a material that moulds around the knee to provide enhanced impact protection.
EJOT
DDS-Z fastener range
EJOT UK’s new DDS-Z fastener range is self-tapping and designed specifically for the attachment of ceiling insulation and acoustic boards to concrete soffits, where the goal is to bring uninsulated floor structures up to the thermal requirements of the latest Building Regulations and beyond. The fasteners are steel screws featuring a duplex coating and self-tapping thread. Suitable to accommodate deep layers of insulation, the fasteners are available in lengths of 275, 300, 325 and 350mm, but need only a 25mm embedment into the concrete. They complement the established DDS range which offers a soffit liner solution where a fixing of up to 250mm is required.

ALIAXIS
Protecta-Line range
Aliaxis is celebrating 25 years of its Protecta-Line range: a barrier pipe and fittings system for the safe transportation of drinking water through contaminated land. A complete pipework system approved to BS 8588 requirements and for use within contaminated land, Protecta-Line was first introduced to the market in 1997.
Originally manufactured from 25mm to 110mm in diameter, it is now available in sizes up to 630mm. New and improved fittings have also been introduced, including an updated version of the stainless-steel mechanical fitting range in 2012 and, more recently, a complete range of self-tapping ferrules with stainless steel straps in 2021.
