GUTTERING SYSTEM

The bold aesthetic and durable qualities of MarleyAlutec’s aluminium solutions met the criteria for a striking guttering system on a new church hall in Tweentown, Cheddar. The manufacturer’s Evolve Box gutter range was specified by architectural practice, Robinson Clark. The 130x85mm Box gutter allows a flow rate of up to 7.01 litres per second and was installed with the same company’s 72x72mm squared Flushift downpipe system.

SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANTS

Premier Tech Water and Environment has enhanced its range of Rewatec Submerged Aerated Filter (SAF) sewage treatment plants to “combine energy efficiency with an exceptionally high wastewater treatment performance”. As part of the redesign, the unit now features an internal baffle in the primary chamber to assist with the removal of solids and organics, and to prevent potential blockages downstream.

INSTALLATION GUIDE

A new installation guide has been introduced for the Onduline, ISOLINE LOW LINE under roof system. It is the only solution of its kind in the UK to be BRE tested and BBA Accredited to as low as 10 degrees with a 30-year guarantee. The manufacturer maintains it is at least three times less likely to leak compared to a traditional tile system.

GUTTER MONITORING

RoofCare is a new ultrasonic gutter monitoring technology and drainage management system. Developed by Sharmans, it provides analysis of drainage performance and generates alerts to highlight capacity issues, as well as providing early warning of imminent water ingression and alerts maintenance teams to potentially take action.

ALUMINIUM RAINWATER SYSTEMS

Evolve Half Round and Traditional Moulded Ogee aluminium rainwater systems from MarleyAlutec have been used on a Victorian residential property near Glasgow. Selected as a durable and low maintenance like-forlike replacement for traditional cast iron, the 125mm Traditional Moulded Ogee bolted gutter system has a flow-rate of 2.21 litres per second (l/s) and an effective roof area of 105m2 per 63mm downpipe.

DRINKING WATER APPROVAL

REHAU has successfully secured independently-tested drinking water approval for its RAUTITAN multi-layer composite pipe (MLCP) system through KIWA UK under its KUKreg4 certification scheme. All products connected to the UK water supply must comply with Regulation 4 of the Water Supply Regulations. Until recently, the most common method of demonstrating compliance was to hold a WRAS approval, but more recently, KIWA and NSF are also offering independent certification for Regulation 4 compliance.
