Water proof intro...

The Mastic Asphalt Council Board would like to afford a very warm welcome to all our readers. The Mastic Asphalt Council - otherwise known as MAC - is the trade body for the mastic asphalt industry in the UK. Our members represent more than 90 of the country’s leading contractors, manufacturers and suppliers of mastic asphalt.

Top quality products, design and workmanship are fundamental to MAC. Membership is only open to those contractors, manufacturers and suppliers that can satisfy stringent quality requirements. To maintain the industry’s reputation and ensure high quality applications for every single project, only trained applicators are permitted to install mastic asphalt under MAC’s strict rules. Being a MAC member enhances the reputation of a contractor and gives a badge of quality and assurance that they meet the very highest of standards with regards to factors such as trading and credit history, insurance policies and quality of workmanship.

Only MAC members can use the MAC logo as a mark of quality. Mastic asphalt manufactured by MAC members is produced in the UK and is not imported.

MAC’s Purpose & Mission

Mastic asphalt offers total waterproofing integrity for roofing and tanking, acts as a tough working surface and damp-proof membrane in flooring and provides a durable wearing surface for paving.

The Mac Board

The MAC board is a perfect example of the vast experience acquired in the industry and several board members started off their career with a mastic asphalt apprenticeship. Such is the experience acquired within the MAC board that eight board members have accumulated almost 300 years’ mastic asphalt experience between them. With an average of over 35 years’ experience each, there are even three MAC board members who have totted up over 50 years’ service in the mastic asphalt sector - Malcolm Grinstead, Keith Collins and Terry Grandi.
