AFI INVESTS IN HYBRIDS

Citing extra demand from customers wanting to hire electric scissor lifts and hybrid cherry pickers, AFI has started to take delivery of over 50 Self-Propelled Hybrid Boom Lifts from Niftylift. The units are particularly useful for indoor use, in low emissions zones, and areas with restricted access. ALLTERRAIN CRANE

Like all future models in the manufacturer’s range the Tadano AC 2.040-1 features the IC 1 Plus control system with automatic counterweight detection, a capacity radar, and a work area display. The system determines the crane’s lifting capacity for every boom position as a function of the superstructure’s slewing angle, which makes use of the maximum available lifting capacity with any outrigger configuration, including asymmetrical ones. NEW SKYJACK MEWPS

New additions to the AFI powered access range include the 20m full size rough-terrain diesel scissor lift – the Skyjack SJ9664RT (new to the UK market and the AFI fleet) and the SJ86T (28m telescopic diesel boom). Overall the hirer has invested in over 200 new MEWPs from the manufacturer, including Electric Scissor Lifts, Articulating Diesel Boom Lifts and Diesel Scissor Lifts. LGMG DIESEL SCISSOR LIFTS

Rental specialist, PG Platforms has taken delivery of the first LGMG SR818D diesel scissor lifts to be sold in the UK and has sent them straight out on a highway tunnel maintenance project. Supplied by APS, PG Platforms Managing Director, Steve Cutting said he was impressed with the build quality, easy operation and specification of the Chinese-made self-propelled scissor lifts, which makes them ideal for working at height in tunnels. LOW EMISSION SCISSOR LIFTS

The £4.3m investment in 380 new Dingli lifts by Speedy Powered Access includes the popular and robust 12m Rough Terrain 4x4 scissor lift. All the units are fully compatible with lowemission hydro-treated vegetable oil (HVO), which the rental firm uses to pre-fuel all powered access equipment as standard at no additional cost. TELESCOPIC CRAWLER CRANE

Long reach and flexibility are just some of the benefits of the 6103 E telecrane, according to its makers. Specially designed for demanding pick and carry applications, the new Sennebogen unit has a 100t load capacity and a maximum boom length of up to 62m and is powered by a Stage V, 186 kW diesel engine.
