The Superintendent’s Tuesday Brief was launched on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. Over these last 18 months, I’ve written about various things ranging from information to inspiration and maybe even a little education. My primary goal and highest hope has been to enhance communication and connection. Many of you have responded over these couple of years with appreciation and encouragement, and I cannot be more appreciative of your feedback.
The first edition asked and answered four questions. I’m repeating them today for those who may be new to our mailing list.
Q: What is the Tuesday Brief?
A: It is a concise, one-page PDF sent to the USA EMC Family each Tuesday from the desk of the International General Superintendent.
Q: What is the purpose?
A: To increase the flow of helpful information to our people, and to enhance our connectedness across the conference.
Q: Who will receive it?
A: EMC Credential holders and church leaders for whom we have an email address.
Q: Can I choose to NOT receive it?
A: Of course. Simply send me an email or text, and I will remove you from the Tuesday Brief mailing. ( PLEASE Don’t hit the “unsubscribe” button unless you wish to be excluded from all EMC emails)
As we move on into 2025, I look forward to continuing to share something with all of you each week. It will always be one page - - hence the name “Brief.” From time to time this year, as I check in with pastors and church leaders, I hope to share some tidbits with you regarding upcoming events at the local church level that you can pray for and participate in if you are close enough geographically. You might even find inspiration to consider ways you could host similar events in your own church context.
Next week, I’ll be talking with Pastor Sean Scribner in Elizabeth City, North Carolina about some of their programs designed to benefit their efforts toward men’s and women’s discipleship, their Senior Adult ministries, their programs for strengthening families, and any other nuggets I can fit in from Pastor Sean.
