PRAYER GUIDE | Christ for All Nations Visit to the Democratic Republic of the Congo
The Global Superintendent, Pastors and Leaders of the CFAN Conference are gathered for a training in the DRC in Africa - -
Max & Judy Edwards and Bill & Lisa Walker had planned to be there with them for teaching support… However, we were hindered from traveling there.
In a modern-day occurrence of the kind of thing that sometimes happened to the Apostle Paul during his missionary travels, we were hindered from flying to Kinshasa, despite many efforts to work around the problem, and have seen it as a clear answer from the Lord that for some reason, we were not intended to be there this time.
Acts 16:7 – “After they had come to Mysia, they tried to go into Bithynia, but the Spirit did not permit them.”
In spite of our difficulties, the meeting is proceeding, so please pray for Global Superintendent Bishop Albert Budiaki as well as the other leaders of the CFAN Conference. They have gathered with pastors and local church leaders in an area south of the capital city. Please pray especially for Pastor Henri Kadima, who was intending to be one of our interpreters. He was allowed to travel but was delayed upon his arrival in Kinshasa and is dealing with a situation that is complicated and troubling, as his passport has been held by authorities
More than 200 languages are spoken, but the 4 indigenous languages are Swahili, Tshiluba, Lingala, and Kongo. French is the official language, however, and is the language of instruction, business, and administration. Lingala is widely spoken in Kinshasa and is growing rapidly in popularity and use across the nation.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ANOINTING AS TEACHING SESSIONS CONTINUE. We have recorded six teaching sessions for them to use as they look into the principles of leadership, devotion, and accountability. Please pray for the Holy Spirit to direct and use our recorded sessions, and for the live teaching of Bishop Budiaki.
PLEASE PRAY FOR PROTECTION AND HEALTH FOR EVERYONE THERE. Pray for protection from malaria and other diseases, as Central Africa has a high incidence of mosquito-born illnesses that can be spread.
PLEASE PRAY FOR PASTOR KADIMA We don’t know all of what he is facing, but it seems there is confusion about his travel to Congo, and we feel it is a spiritual attack to discourage and hinder his work there.
