December 5, 2023 Our calendars have flipped to December, which means our minds are turning toward Christmas cantatas and children’s programs … toward decorations and dinners … toward Advent and a hundred related details. I’m so aware of what it is like … busy pastors and busy people, preparing to adequately retell the greatest story ever told to your church and your community. But since it’s EARLY December, I’m wondering if I might have 3 minutes of your time to put something on your planning calendar? Thanks! The final details are being settled this week for our District regional sessions that begin several weeks from now. The first ones will be here before we know it. Four locations are hosting “Journey” meetings in 2024, and before your winter and spring calendars get clogged, I’m hoping that you’ll take the time to put your nearest location into the mix. For our north and southwest churches, we’ll be gathering in Oregon and/or Arizona, and for everyone in the Center of the USA to the eastern seaboard, the options will be eastern North Carolina and central Texas. The fact is this … you may attend ANY JOURNEY you wish, and as many as you wish, for that matter! But we assume you’ll try to make it a driving trip, which is why we hold the number of them that we do, and space them out across the country. As soon as all the particulars are settled, we’ll make sure you know what to expect, and send you the registration link. But for now, PLEASE PLAN for each of them to begin on Thursday afternoon, and to wrap up in a culminating worship service on Friday night. Remember how badly we wanted to gather with fellow believers just a few years ago but couldn’t? Remember that? Well, let’s take advantage of the opportunity to do just that, and come together to learn, worship, and encourage one another. It’s the stuff of Acts 2:42-43, and the church has been at it since Jesus ascended. So, c’mon! Let’s gather to make it happen again!! We sincerely hope to see you there!
