One More for Christ

W

e are celebrating 90 years of existence in the Mexican Evangelistic Mission. In 1926, Brother Vargas began with an evangelical service in the city of Chihuahua, Chihuahua, thus initiating the missionary work that soon spread to several states of the Mexican Republic. For some reason, the adversary partly hindered the work. It is now time to look with intensity for the presence of the Lord in our hearts. It is for this reason that today we must see the need to revisit the vision that this team of brothers had initially, thus fulfilling our mission of winning over all of Mexico for Christ.

How are we going to fulfill it? Very simple, by devoting our lives to the King of kings and Lord of lords. I propose the following goal: By the time we reach 100 years as a denomination, we must have a good number of churches; the approximate number would be 100 churches that we will plant for Jesus. Some may see this as something impossible, but for those of us who have faith, we believe we can achieve it (you

tell the mountain to move, and the mountain will move; you tell disbelief to move and disbelief will move). It is as simple as each believer winning one person to Christ. This way we will multiply in an extraordinary way. By taking discipleship courses and training each person gained, we can achieve extraordinary progress. The Life and Truth Bible Institute is a valuable training center where new converts can study the Bible and prepare to be disciples. The Bible Institute must be promptly teaching the blessed and glorious Word of our God. We need education for our children, our youth and our adults. We need good teachers committed to the Lord who have a solid education and a good theology. Brethren, I invite you to join ranks in this work so sublime for us, to preach the blessed word of our God. We need a strong wall of prayer.

We need to pray 24 hours; we need prayer chains, always interceding for our pastors before the throne of our God. Pastors, it is time to stand up for Jesus Christ.

Humble beginnings of the Mexican Evangelistic Mission

Dr. E. B, Vargas was ordained in the Methodist Church on February 4, 1912. A crisis came for Dr. Vargas on November 4, 1926 when confronted with “the spiritual and doctrinal dissipated condition that prevailed in the old Methodist Church.” That day he and 12 other members of the Methodist Church of Chihuahua gathered in the parsonage to pray for God’s guidance. The result was the founding of the Mexican Evangelistic Mission. Dr. Vargas wrote, “Eleven constituted that group and counting the Lord, we were twelve, whose presence was so real. I remember some names: my own mother, Aurelia C. Vargas, Sister Juanita Hernandez, Ezequiel Vargas Jr., Ruben V. Austin, Lolita Orozco, Herminia Bustamante, Carolina Sepulvedda, Mercedita A. Aguirre, Blanche Gilbert and the one writing, Ezequiel Benjamin Vargas.”

Dr. Ezequiel Benjamin Vargas C. Founder and Pastor 1926-1965 of the Mexican Evangelistic Mission, and General Superintendent for 38 years from 1926 to 1965.

In 1946 Dr. Vargas attended a meeting in Memphis, Tennessee of a small group of USA preachers and laymen meeting for prayer over the growing apostasy of the church. The outcome of that Memphis meeting was the organization of the Evangelical Methodist Church (EMC) under the leadership of Dr. J. H. Hamblen.

Dr. Vargas requested the work of the Mexican Evangelistic Mission (MEM) become a part of the EMC, and so it was.

In 1954 the MEM was designated as a

Mexico District of the EMC. Then in 1957 the Mexican Evangelistic Conference included all the territory of Mexico and became the first mission conference of the EMC. Dr. Vargas was elected the first general superintendent of the Conference.

In August 1955 Dr. Vargas wrote in “The Voice of Evangelical Methodism,” the official organ of the Evangelical Methodist Church: “Many large churches have ceased to be instruments in the hands of God to save souls and have become mere clubs in which the word of God is not considered and the whims of men reign supremely.” God spoke to Dr. Vargas at that meeting [1926], calling him to come out of the Methodist Church. In the weeks that followed that prayer meeting, 48 people in his congregation followed him to become co-founders of the Mexican Evangelistic Mission.

Dr. J.H. Hamblen, the founder of the EMC, is not a giant physically, but he is a giant in soul, a giant in spirit, and a giant in heart. Dr. Vargas wrote, “It did not take us much to understand each other. Thus began a friendship that has become sweeter and stronger over the years. It was in this way that my relationship with the beloved EMC (Evangelical Methodist Church) had its beginning.”

God allowed Dr. Vargas to celebrate his ministerial golden anniversary in 1962. He preached his last sermon on December 24, 1964. He was in full activity until the day of his departure, January 3, 1965.

The Ministry of Miss Alta Dixon August 25, 1905 - May 5, 2003

Miss Alta Dixon was a sickly child, given up to die at age 12. But God raised her up and gave her a vision of a mountain village. She miraculously revived and although she remained sickly and weak physically, she grew in giant steps spiritually. Her family moved her from near Oklahoma City to the Los Angeles area for her health. As a teen, she began to work with Spanish-speaking people using an interpreter. She yearned to learn the language, but found it too difficult. Most of the children spoke English, so she didn’t want for interpreters.

One day she was scheduled to visit one of the student’s home and witness to his family. She realized the child would be in school and she had no one to speak for her. She prayed, asking God to

give her the Spanish language as He had done for the apostles at Pentecost. She arose from prayer and went to the house to explain that she didn’t speak the language…but she explained in Spanish. She spent most of that day going over the scriptures and witnessing to that family in their language.

When she was 19 years old, God called her to go to Mexico, after hearing Dr. Vargas speak in one of the California churches. She sold her car to buy a trunk, material to make three dresses, and a bus ticket to Juarez, Mexico. Dr. Vargas met her at the border. She arrived during the siesta time and the border guards were not in. Dr. Vargas went to the home of one of the officials, who reluctantly returned to the border with him and filled out papers for Miss Dixon. He mistakenly filled out permanent resident papers instead of the tourist visa requested. When Miss Dixon arrived in Chihuahua City she had 25 cents in Mexican money and she had no promise of any more money, but she knew God had sent her there and God would provide.

During the conference, food was provided for all the attendees, as was lodging in the local homes.

Following the conference one of the missionaries asked Alta if she would please house sit for her while she made a trip. She also asked if Alta would mind eating the food left in the house, so it wouldn’t spoil. When Dr. Vargas realized Alta was staying, he began to send her out to areas around to preach and teach. Often people fed her and sometimes they didn’t. Once she had to walk through the market place, where fresh milk was being sold. She yearned for a cup of milk. “God, couldn’t you just give me a nickel to buy a cup of milk?” She felt God speak

into her mind, “Wouldn’t you just as soon have the strength that milk would give you?” Immediately she felt as if she had drunk that milk and she went on to minister the rest of the day.

When the missionary returned, Dr. Vargas asked Alta to go into the mountains with Jose and Maria Flores to minister to the Tarahumara Indians. The Indians were always dear to Dr. Vargas. She gladly joined the Floreses. When she rode into San Juanito, she recognized the vision of the mountain village God had shown her as an unconscious twelveyear-old. She rode all through those mountains for several years before God provided the funds to build Colegio Dixon, a Christian elementary school where hundreds of Mexican and indigenous children found Jesus Christ as Savior while they learned to read and earn a living.

Many of the pastors and Sunday school teachers throughout the mission found Jesus Christ through Miss Dixon’s ministry. She lived in San Juanito more than 57 years. That village was at 7,200 feet altitude.

Miss Dixon said, “Many of my doctors have told me I am committing suicide to live at this altitude with my bad heart.” Then she would giggle, “But I’ve outlived most of them.” She had only a portion of her stomach, one kidney, and had many other surgeries on lungs and heart. She had osteoporosis to the point that just riding the train to Chihuahua City would result in broken ribs or other bones. She spent many hours in the hospital in that city. She conducted daily Bible studies around her bedside for nurses and doctors. Hotel keepers, taxi drivers, and everyone else who came in contact with Miss Alta Dixon came to know her God and Savior. She was respected by government officials, and spoke to most of them as if they were still her students. No one argued with Miss Dixon—except Alex Hoover.

They shared a unique, loving camaraderie. Once Alex told her he and Alfredo Guerrero (at that time Alfredo was pastor of her church) were the perfect husbands. She nodded sagely. “That’s why I never

looked for a husband.”

God recreated almost every miracle in the Bible in Miss Dixon’s ministry. He multiplied her oatmeal during famine. Her potatoes didn’t sprout, nor did the supply diminish during an entire winter. She and the Floreses rode horses through a raging forest fire over accumulated dry pine needles and arrived safely with no burns or even scorched clothing, and the horses remained calm through it.

Three times she was clinically dead and saw Jesus, and each time He showed her the village with more work to be done. It has frequently been said that she was the only missionary who never made a mistake in grammar, pronunciation, tense or gender in the Spanish language. And when she was very tired, she couldn’t speak English.

Alex and I count it as one of the greatest blessings of our lives to have worked with her during our five years in the mountains. If we ever had any complaints, she would shake her finger at us lovingly and say, “God neither does, nor suffers to be done but what you yourself would do if you could see the end as He has done.”

I am sure Jesus came for her personally and carried her to the throne of God, where a multitude of saints testified as to the part she played in their lives.

The History of the Life and Truth Bible Institute

“I thought it would be enough for me to provide a center where people could hear the Word in its purity,” wrote Dr. Vargas.

“But some groups began to rise up in different parts of the state (Chihuahua). Soon they were asking to be admitted to this new movement. This created the need for preachers.”

Offices of Dr. Vargas riding in the early years of MEMAR, taken during one of his frequent evangelistic visits to churches and communities to which he was called to minister. Much was to reach rural areas. Since a lot of travel in those days was on horseback, Dr. Vargas would have some students accompanying him on his travels. While traveling, he would teach the Bible. He also taught them about the necessary language skills and science, as was the custom of John Wesley in England. It was in this family condition he went on to teach young people wanting to learn to be preachers and teach the gospel as they traveled to and from their meetings on horseback. His desire to establish a learning institution, in response to the need for

trained preachers, was born and fed during the first attempts to train and teach young people of the Mexican Evangelistic Mission.

In 1948, the dream of Dr. Vargas became a reality. In the report of the Conference of the Evangelical Methodist Church in October 1949, he wrote, “Recognizing the fact that we cannot continue with the Mexican Evangelistic Mission, unless we prepared someone to continue the work when the Lord had to call us, we have established this last year a Bible training school, which bears the name of LIFE and TRUTH.” A number of churches and individuals in the United States contributed funds totaling $2,125.00 for the establishment of the school, while the Anderson Gospel Tabernacle helped the MEM to remodel

an old house as a dormitory for women known as the Billheimer Memorial Bedroom. As part of his October 1949 report, Dr. Vargas reported the need for space for dormitories for 10 male students, and mentioned how he bought a property attached to his building. He desired to add several bedrooms in the backyard of his own house. After building a small addition to his dining room, his entire house was completely dedicated to the school.

In 1950, Dr. Vargas continued to write in his report to the conference on the need for permanent dormitories for male students. “Another of our prevailing needs is a dormitory for boys. We have a Bible Training School to prepare workers to take the gospel of Jesus Christ. This year, we have 11 boys and 7 girls; last year we had 10 boys and 7 girls.”

Again, in 1951, Dr. Vargas wrote, “We have opened again our training school, Life and Truth. We have 10 in the women’s department and 8 in the men’s department. The spirit of the school is very good.

We are confronted with the problem of suitable buildings to accommodate our young people in our training school - Life and Truth.”

In his report of August 1955, he said, “Members of MEMAR have made supreme sacrifices and have been deprived of the most necessary things of life to meet the growing demands of the work. Our Life and Truth Bible Training School in Chihuahua is one of the modern miracles. The Lord has sent means to continue and has touched the hearts of young people who have been called and are being prepared to serve in the Lord’s vineyard. Someday we hope to make Chihuahua the center of a large Christian school where young people can prepare to follow different scopes in their lives.” In April 1957, the General Superintendent of the EMC, the Rev. Lucian Smith, wrote in “The Voice” in his column Mexico is Calling, “Here is a work of God that has 32 young Christians in a Bible School. They do not request or receive tuition fees. Here is a work that needs to be expanded strongly, but is handicapped by lack of funds. If you or I have failed to ‘BRING tithes into the storehouse’ or give our offerings of love for this great work of the Methodist Church,

there is blood on our hands. We are responsible for thousands who do not come to Christ and are going to hell. May God have mercy on us.”

The last significant entry found in “The Voice” about the school was April 1st and another in November 1961. In April, Brother Jim Mumme, then president of the World Missions Board wrote, “Four students of the Life and Truth School will graduate this year, two men and two women, all very intelligent and consecrated persons whose training will equip them for leadership in their churches. The school is located in buildings near the church in Chihuahua and properties near the home of Dr. Vargas. Nineteen students attended this year.”

In November he wrote, “Part of the Life and Truth Bible School occupies properties that belong to Dr. Vargas which will pass to their heirs since it is inadequate and must be replaced. This Bible School is at the secondary level and should be advanced to graduate more mature students.” The Life and Truth Bible Institute remained in Chihuahua until Dr. Vargas went home to heaven in 1965.

The Rev. Vernon Perkins was sent by the Board of World Missions in 1965 to serve in Parral, Mexico where the Mission had property.

The conference decided that the Bible School should be moved to Parral and its name changed to The Life and Truth Bible Institute. Rev. Perkins was appointed director of the Institute in Parral, where he remained active until 1973, when it was closed for a year. In 1974, the Life and Truth Bible Institute was moved to the city of Torreon, Coah, where today there are excellent buildings. The instrument God used for this last change was the Rev. Leroy E. Lindsey, Jr. A considerable number of missionaries, pastors and students have gone through this school, which continues to train those called to serve in the Lord’s vineyard. At present the Institute has ten students being trained for ministry.

The Tarahumara Mission Field

The Mexican Evangelistic Mission was born

on November 6, 1926. Its founder, Dr. Ezekiel B. Vargas was a man with a deep zeal for the salvation of souls. The Tarahumaras always occupied an important place in his heart. At the beginning, God called Sister Carlota Quezada to work in the mountains. Later, the brothers Jose & Maria Flores received the call as missionaries. They settled in San Juanito from which they took the gospel to the Indians. They had the privilege of seeing their efforts crowned with the conversion of a number of Tarahumaras. In 1924, God made a special appeal to Miss Alta Dixon. Being 19 and being unconscious because of one of her many illnesses, God showed her a village in a mountain.

The following year she recognized the place when she was arriving in San Juanito. She joined the missionary work with brothers Jose and Maria

Flores taking the gospel on horseback to remote places in the mountains. God was pleased to use sister Dixon and her colleagues to found the Dixon school where hundreds received formal education and the gospel.

Dr. Vargas continued to send workers to preach to the Tarahumaras, including highly regarded brothers such as the Rev. Benito Carbajal who lived in Guachochi and Kirare. With the arrival of the missionaries Alex and Mae Hoover, the gospel was preached in Samachique for five years, while the missionary Rev. Alfredo Guerrero was established in Choguita, where he served for twelve years.

Later, God, in His infinite mercy towards the most vulnerable, raised as missionaries Jose and Cristina MacĂ­as, who were supported by the Hermosa Congregation in Cuauhtemoc City.

The Tarahumara missionary work started

November 10, 1992, with the first church in Humira. Since Cristina Valenzuela was indigenous Tarahumara from the Samachique region, the gospel was presented with the culture, language and customs of the Tarahumara. Soon God’s approval was patent after conversions succeeded one after the other. For four years, Brother Moises Corral Villegas did an excellent job as a missionary. Likewise, brother Hector Pompa and Anastancio Duran.

At present day, the Tarahumara work has approximately two hundred congregants at different preaching points with two churches already built. The “Spring of Life” (Bajichi ke sine akicheami) in Akigochi, was built in the municipality of Basihuare with resources from the Evangelical Methodist Church. The Betania church in Samachique, and the different groups that do not have a building yet are under the ministry of lay Christian brothers.

The Tarahumara lay workers who have been faithful over the years include Brother Lorenzo Duran, Venancio Perez, Tranquilino Capírachi, Cristina Duran, Manuel Batista, Martin Torres and Domingo. What is of God remains. One day the fire was lit in the mountains and continues to spread to new towns and villages. Indigenous leaders themselves are taking the gospel to other places; the Tarahumara brothers have a strong vision of missions. We pray that God will raise up more workers to heed the call. I want to express my gratitude to the Evangelical Methodist Church for supporting the Tarahumara work, Brother Williamson for his support and to the congregation The Beautiful with their pastor Daniel Duran and lay leaders who to this day continue to support the work.

I

remember my father, Rev. Benito Carbajal, telling me many stories. Once we talked about the first trip he took with six believers from the Bible Institute, including Bro. Ezeqiel Vargas. It was May 5, 1947, when they traveled by train to Creel. There they hired a mule driver who only had three horses.

Because there were more people than horses, they took turns riding the horses and walking for their seven day trip. This was the first time my father saw Guachochi. God gave my dad the desire to return to Guachochi and begin the work of evangelism.

My parents met in Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosi, at the Bible School of the Pilgrim Church where the two were students. They chose to unite their lives in marriage in the City of Chihuahua on August 21, l948. Their first home was the house that missionaries from the United States had built.

Although it was not yet finished, they lived there with the vision to erect a monument to the glory of God. At that time they talked, there were isolated settlements that existed in the area. The inhabitants were predominately Tarahumara. There was only a Catholic chapel in the center of what would soon

become the town of Guachochi.

Through the years, several missionaries worked closely with my Dad. I remember Brother Harold Kelly, one of the missionaries who helped financially, physically and spiritually for various periods of time. My Dad also spoke of another influential missionary, David DeHaven, whom I never met. I remember very well the missionary Dorothy Holman, who came to Guachochi. She served as a missionary for many years, working with my parents. With the help of missionaries or not, my parents never stopped preaching God’s Word.

They lived in Guachochi between 11 to 15 years. Ranchers near and far visited them on foot and sometimes on horseback. My parents often walked kilometers, experiencing all kinds of temperatures, often with many needs of their own to bring the seed of the gospel to the most remote places. During those years, they spent many winters in solitary confinement. Sometimes snow closed the few roads that existed creating a shortage of food and mail. They often ran out of food, surviving on the crops they could preserve from the previous

summer’s harvest. Letters took months to arrive so they lost contact with their family for long periods of time.

My mom was a cook, seamstress, baker, nurse ... and much more. My dad did not wish to say, but besides being a pastor, other obligations were a bricklayer, laborer, cook, carpenter, and more.

People always remember them visiting homes, the two together. They tell how my parents constantly served, preached and carried the flag of the gospel as a priority. They say they never heard them complain when economically times were hard. My Dad would repeatedly say, “God will provide” ... and God always provided. It was wonderful!

I remember my mom preaching and singing, “I live by faith in my Savior … No fear ... my Lord is faithful in the rough fight and will never leave me ... I live by faith. Then He saved me.” There are many hymns that have left a mark on my heart since childhood because of the trust and confidence with which the worshipers sang. Many pastors have gone through the Guachochi area, working with love and enthusiasm for the same purpose as my parents did. They worked to spread the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Many lay persons have continued to work loyally serving God there as well.

I like to remember that it began with God’s call on my Dad to share the gospel in Guachochi Valley.

My parents taught me to love this land but

above all to love the Lord’s work. To serve Him anywhere, in all circumstances, at any time and in any situation. They stressed that I not serve merely in words or to be seen or recognized, but to serve by my actions. They instilled their love for serving God in me by setting the best example of how to serve Him. Their wish was that I serve God with passion, testimony, and delivery. My Dad’s dream, his life, was serving God in Guachochi. They never left here, for their hearts continued to live forever in this place with you whom they loved unconditionally.

In the latter years, my mother did not return to Guachochi. However, she always carried Guachochi in her heart, just like my Dad did. She was always looking for any excuse to talk about my Dad’s love for this land. His love was for the Tarahumara, the mountains, and the Lord’s work. His heart was forever in Guachochi.

The seed was planted and reproduced, and all my parents would say was, “Here I am. Send me.”

And that is what God asks us to do daily.

I end my writing with the title of another favorite song of my mother, “Have I Given the Best to Christ?” This is something I strive to do daily.

Four Missions There was a time

when the Mexican Evangelistic Mission had four missionary centers of great strength and far reaching influence.

During this time, the strong emphasis on missions caused new missions and new churches to be planted around each new mother church. This happened in all four mission centers: Chihuahua, Chih., San Salvador Zac, San Juanito, Chih., and Parral, Chih. Each mission center had a distinctive approach to furthering God’s Kingdom.

The Open Door Church in Chihuahua, being the mother church of the Mexican Evangelistic Mission, witnessed an unprecedented revival under the ministry of Dr. Ezequiel B. Vargas as founder. The work was extended to reach the Sierra Tarahumara Indians and several states within central Mexico. This growth allowed a large number of communities to receive the gospel from missionaries and lay workers who partnered with the Life and Truth Bible Institute beginning in 1949.

Our vision for The Open Door Church in Chihuahua is to see a revival that will, once again, multiply churches in Mexico and spread the gospel to new regions. Our prayer is that God will use His people to further His Kingdom and regain the great strength and influence witnessed under the leadership of Dr. Vargas and those who worked with him. With the help of God, this is possible.

The work in the San Salvador Missionary Center ministered to hundreds of children in the Heroes of Mexico Boarding School and Elementary School.

Under the ministry of great missionaries like Miss Mary Massey, Miss Hester Easley, Miss Fern Abbott, John and Ruth Pawelski, and Brother Stanislao Ortega (Tanis), serving along with many pastors, the church flourished having an important outreach in villages and communities nearby. The families would arrive in ox carts at the San Salvador Mission Center on Friday and Saturday for a weekend full of spiritual teachings and revival. We pray the Lord will grant San Salvador the blessing of once again becoming a fertile mission field.

Already we are encouraged as the local church, Bethel, is showing signs of revival. The lay preachers are devoted

to visiting nearby villages to share the gospel. We have faith that San Salvador will be the focus of missions once again and that the boarding school will reopen. We are confident that the best days of San Salvador are still to come.

In the San Juanito Missionary Center, the work was established under the ministry of such valuable workers as Miss Alta Dixon, Miss Carolyn Burry, Miss Harriet Troutwein, Lois Raser, Jose and Maria Flores, among others. The San Juanito missionaries and pastors preached the gospel among a wide range of communities from the indigenous communities of the Sierra Tarahumara to the students at Dixon College. Many graduates of the highly respected Dixon College, tell how they treasured the influence of these missionaries and their sharing the plan of salvation which changed their life forever. In all of the San Juanito communities, the memories of these valuable missionaries and pastors who taught God’s Word and the miracles they witnessed during this time are still remembered. Unfortunately the great missionary movement that took place in San Juanito is not as strong now. We wonder, will it rise again as a center for missions? Will they open new preaching points? Will Dixon College reopen to train young people called to the ministry or Christian service in local churches? We pray that the spirit that once existed in the old missionaries will return. Our vision is that the Dixon School will reopen as a training school and San Juanito will become the platform to launch a very ambitious missionary project to continue reaching the Tarahumara for Christ.

The church in Parral, after having an important number of missions and churches under their care, served as a vibrant Christian influence. Like the Open Door Church in Chihuahua, churches were planted and the gospel was shared among the people of Parral. But like the other missionary centers, Parral has fallen by the wayside too. Will it open missions and churches once again? Nehemiah 4:2 says, “Can they bring the stones back to life from those heaps of rubble—burned as they are?” Will these missionary centers revive again? Will God visit the Mexican Evangelistic Mission once more? Will we be witnessing a second miracle of revival? By faith, we expectantly see the future days of our denomination fulfilling God´s purpose. We see a group of committed workers who lift His name on high. May the spiritual burden for MEMAR never depart from our heart.

Brother Ricardo Rodríguez Part of our heritage in the Mexican

Evangelistic Mission is the existence of workers like brother Ricardo Rodriguez. He was a colporteur, a man dedicated to the sale and distribution of the Bible and Christian tracts in rural areas of Zacatecas. Like circuit preachers in Methodism, brother Ricardo walked the communities preaching the Word of God. In the history of Methodism, a circuit was a given geographical area to which the Conference assigned preachers. The work of the circuit preacher was most sublime, because the preacher loaded his pack animal, be it a horse or a donkey, made sure to have enough Bibles, books and pamphlets and conducted the tour of the circuit or preaching route. Some preachers traveled from several days to several months to cover a given area. Upon returning, they could testify about conversions, persecution and great victories on their travels, like Brother Ricardo García, 1902-1952, who underwent a total regeneration after being a murderer, an alcoholic and bad husband. God changed him and he dedicated his life to bringing the gospel, distributing gospel tracts for many years, until 1952 when on his last trip, he was killed by religious fanatics of Mexico. Canvassers have been a very important element in the history of the Evangelical Church in Latin America. Although today it is a ministry almost extint, God can raise brothers with the zeal to preach and distribute the scriptures. We thank the ministry of faithful brothers like Ricardo Rodríguez.

En 1926, frère Vargas a commencé avec un service évangélique dans la ville de Chihuahua, Chihuahua. Ce fait lançant le missionnaire travail qui se répandait à plusieurs États de la République mexicaine. Pour une raison quelconque, l’adversaire a entravé partiellement le travail. Il est maintenant temps de regarder avec intensité la présence du Seigneur dans nos cœurs. C’est pour cette raison qu’aujourd’hui, nous devons voir la nécessité de revoir la vision que cette équipe de frères qui avait au départ, respectant ainsi notre mission de gagner sur l’ensemble du Mexique pour le Christ.

Comment allons-nous à remplir ? Très simple, en consacrant notre vie pour le roi des rois et Seigneur des seigneurs. Je propose l’objectif suivant.

Au moment où que nous atteignons comme une valeur nominale de 100 ans, nous devons avoir un bon nombre d’églises, le nombre approximatif serait de 100 églises que nous planterons pour Jésus. Certains peuvent voir cela comme quelque chose d’impossible, mais pour ceux d’entre nous qui ont la foi, nous croyons que nous pouvons parvenir à elle (vous dire la montagne à déplacer et la montagne se déplaceront ; vous dites incrédulité pour déplacer et incrédulité se déplace). C’est aussi simple que chaque croyant gagner une personne au Christ. De cette façon que nous vont se multiplier de façon extraordinaire. En suivant des cours de formation de disciples et chaque personne a acquis de la formation, nous pouvons réaliser des progrès extraordinaires. La vie et la vérité Bible Institute est un centre de formation précieux où les nouveaux convertis peuvent étudier la Bible et se préparent à être des disciples. L’Institut biblique doit être rapidement enseigner la parole bénie et glorieuse de notre Dieu. Nous avons besoin de bonne éducation pour nos enfants, nos jeunes et nos adultes. Nous avons besoin de bons professeurs qui ont une solide formation, de la bonne théologie et se sont engagés à l’Éternel. Frères, je vous invite à rejoindre les rangs dans cette œuvre si sublime pour nous, pour prêcher la parole bénie de notre Dieu. Nous avons besoin d’une puissante muraille de prière. Nous devons prier 24 heures ; Nous avons besoin des chaînes de prière, toujours intercéder pour nos pasteurs devant le trône de notre Dieu. Pasteurs, il est temps de se lever pour Jésus-Christ.

Mlle Alta Dixon était un enfant maladif, renoncé à mourir à l’âge de 12 ans. Mais Dieu soulève son haut et lui a donné une vision d’un village de montagne. Elle reprend miraculeusement et elle demeurait chétif et faible physiquement, elle a grandi à pas de géant spirituellement. Sa famille lui quitta proche Oklahoma City pour la région de Los Angeles pour sa santé. Comme un adolescent, elle commence à travailler avec des personnes de langue espagnoles à l’aide d’un interprète. Elle aspirait à apprendre la langue, mais a trouvé trop difficile. La plupart des enfants parle l’anglais, alors qu’elle ne voulait pas d’interprètes.

Un jour elle devait visiter une des maisons de l’étudiant et le témoignage à sa famille. Elle comprit que l’enfant se trouverait à l’école et elle n’avait personne à parler pour elle. Elle a prié, demandant à Dieu de lui donner de la langue espagnole comme il l’avait fait pour les apôtres à la Pentecôte. Elle est née de la prière et se rendit à la maison pour expliquer qu’elle ne parle pas la langue... mais elle a expliqué en espagnol. Elle a passé la plupart de la journée sur les écritures et témoignant de cette famille dans leur langue.

Quand elle avait 19 ans, Dieu l’appelait pour aller au Mexique, après avoir entendu m. Vargas à parler dans une des églises de Californie. Elle a vendu sa voiture pour acheter un tronc, matériau pour faire trois robes et un ticket de bus à Juarez, Mexique. Dr. Vargas rencontrée à la frontière. Elle est arrivée au cours de l’heure de la sieste et les garde-frontières n’étaient pas. Dr. Vargas est allé à la maison d’un des fonctionnaires, qui à contrecœur retourna à la frontière avec lui et rempli les papiers pour Miss Dixon. Il remplit par erreur des documents résidents permanents plutôt que le visa touristique demandé. Quand Miss Dixon sont arrivés dans la ville de Chihuahua elle avait 25 cents en argent mexicain et qu’elle n’avait aucune promesse de plus d’argent, mais elle savait que Dieu lui avait envoyé là et Dieu fournirait. Au cours de la Conférence, la nourriture a été donnée pour tous les participants, comme ce fut le logement dans les maisons locales.

Suite à la Conférence un des missionnaires invité Alta que si elle abriterait s’il vous plait s’asseoir pendant son temps, elle a fait un voyage. Elle a également demandé si Alta occuperiez de manger la nourriture laissé dans la maison, donc il ne serait pas gâcher. Quand Dr. Vargas réalisé Qu’Alta était descendu, il commença à lui à envoyer dans les zones autour de prêcher et d’enseigner. Souvent les gens nourris lui et parfois ils n’ont pas. Une fois qu’elle a dû traverser la place du marché, où était vendu du lait frais. Elle aspirait pour une tasse de lait. « Dieu, ne pouvait pas juste me donner un sou pour acheter une tasse de lait? » Elle sentait Dieu parle dans son esprit, « Ne serait pas vous aussi bientôt avoir la force qui vous donnerait lait? » Immédiatement, elle se sentait comme si elle avait bu de ce lait et elle a ensuite pour le reste de la journée le ministre.

Lorsque le missionnaire retourné, m. Vargas a demandé à Alta pour aller dans les montagnes avec José et Maria Flores à la ministre aux Indiens Tarahumara. Les Indiens ont toujours étaient chères à m. Vargas.

Volontiers, elle rejoint les Floreses. Lorsqu’elle a roulé en San Juanito, elle a reconnu la vision de Dieu lui avait montré comme un inconscient douze ans le village de montagne. Elle a roulé tout au long de ces montagnes depuis plusieurs années avant que Dieu a fourni les fonds pour construire le Colegio Dixon, une école primaire chrétienne, où des centaines d’enfants mexicains et autochtones trouvent Jésus Christ comme Sauveur, alors qu’ils ont appris à lire et à gagner leur vie.

La plupart des pasteurs et professeurs de l’école du dimanche tout au long de la mission trouvent Jésus Christ Ministère de Miss Dixon. Elle vit à San Juanito plus de 57 ans. Ce village était à 7 200 pieds d’altitude. Miss Dixon a dit, « Beaucoup de mes médecins m’ont dit je suis se suicider pour aller vivre à cette altitude avec mon cœur mauvais. » Elle aurait ensuite le fou rire, « mais j’ai survécu à la plupart d’entre eux. » Elle avait seulement une partie de son estomac, un rein et avait de nombreuses autres interventions chirurgicales sur les poumons et le cœur. Elle a eu l’ostéoporose au point que l’équitation juste le train à la ville de Chihuahua se traduirait par des côtes cassées ou autres OS. Elle a passé de nombreuses heures à l’hôpital de cette ville. Elle a effectué des études bibliques quotidiennes autour de son chevet pour les infirmières et les médecins. Hôteliers, chauffeurs de taxi et tous les autres qui sont venus en contact avec Mlle Alta Dixon est venu à connaître son Dieu et Sauveur. Elle a été respectée par les représentants du gouvernement et s’est adressé à la plupart d’entre eux comme s’ils étaient toujours ses élèves. Personne n’a soutenu avec Miss Dixon — sauf Alex Hoover. Ils ont partagé une camaraderie unique, aimant. Une fois qu’Alex lui a dit que lui et Alfredo Guerrero (à l’époque, Qu’Alfredo a été pasteur de son église) étaient le mari parfait. Elle hocha la tête sagement. « C’est pourquoi j’ai jamais regardé un mari. » Dieu recréé presque chaque miracle dans la Bible au ministère de Miss Dixon. Il a multiplié ses flocons d’avoine au cours de la famine. Ses pommes de terre ne germent, ni l’approvisionnement diminue pendant un hiver entier. Elle et les Floreses rode chevaux grâce à un feu de forêt qui fait rage sur accumulé les aiguilles de pin sèches et arrivèrent sains et saufs sans brûlures ni vêtements même brûlée, et les chevaux sont restés calmes à travers elle. Trois fois elle était cliniquement morte et a vu Jésus, et chaque fois qu’il lui a montré le village avec plus de travail à faire. On a souvent dit qu’elle était le seul missionnaire qui n’a jamais fait une erreur de grammaire, prononciation, tendue ou le sexe dans la langue espagnole. Et quand elle était très fatiguée, elle ne pouvait pas parler anglais.

Alex et je compte comme l’un des plus grands bienfaits de nos vies pour avoir travaillé avec elle au cours de nos cinq ans dans les montagnes. Si nous jamais eu aucune plainte, elle serait agitée son doigt à nous avec amour et dire: « Dieu, ne souffre pas à faire mais ce que vous vous feriez si vous pouviez voir la fin, comme il l’a fait. » Je suis sûr que Jésus est venu pour elle personnellement et Porta sur le trône de Dieu, où une multitude de saints a témoigné au sujet de la partie, elle joue dans leur vie.

L’histoire de la vie et la vérité Bible Institute « J’ai pensé que ce serait suffisant pour moi fournir un centre où les gens pouvaient entendre le mot dans sa pureté, », a écrit m. Vargas. “Mais certains groupes ont commencé à se lever dans différentes parties de l’État (Chihuahua). Bientôt, ils demandaient à être admis à ce nouveau mouvement. Cela a créé le besoin de prédicateurs. » Il y a une photo dans les archives des bureaux de m. Vargas, équitation dans les premières années de MEMAR, prise lors d’une de ses fréquentes visites d’évangélisation aux églises et aux communautés à laquelle il a été appelé général au ministre. Une grande partie était d’atteindre les zones rurales. Puisque beaucoup de voyage à l’époque était à cheval, Dr. Vargas aurait certains étudiants accompagne dans ses voyages. Lors d’un voyage, il enseignerait la Bible. Il enseigne également les sur les compétences linguistiques nécessaires et de la science, comme c’était la coutume de John Wesley en Angleterre. C’est à cette condition familiale, qu’il a poursuivi en apprendre aux jeunes désireux d’apprendre à être des prédicateurs et d’enseigner l’Évangile comme ils ont voyagé vers et à partir de leurs réunions à cheval. Son désir de créer un établissement d’enseignement, en réponse au besoin de prédicateurs formés, était né et nourrie durant les premières tentatives pour former et enseigner aux jeunes de la Mission d’évangélisation mexicaine.

En 1948, le rêve du Dr. Vargas est devenu une réalité. Dans le rapport de la Conférence de l’église méthodiste évangélique en octobre 1949, écrit-il, « compte tenu du fait que nous ne pouvons pas continuer avec la Mission d’évangélisation mexicaine, à moins que nous avons préparé une personne de poursuivre le travail quand le Seigneur a dû faire appel à nous, nous avons établi l’an dernier une école de formation biblique, qui porte le nom de la vie et de vérité. » Un certain nombre d’églises et les particuliers aux ÉtatsUnis a contribué financièrement pour un montant total de $ 2 125,00 pour la création de l’école, alors qu’Anderson Gospel Tabernacle a aidé le MEM de rénover une vieille maison comme un dortoir pour femmes appelées la chambre à coucher Billheimer Mémorial. Dans le cadre de son rapport d’octobre 1949, m. Vargas a signalé le besoin d’espace pour les dortoirs pour 10 élèves de sexe masculin et mentionné comment il a acheté une propriété attachée à son immeuble. Il voulait ajouter plusieurs chambres dans le jardin de sa maison. Après avoir construit un petit rajout à sa salle à manger, sa maison a été entièrement dédiée à l’école.

En 1950, m. Vargas a continué à écrire dans son rapport à la Conférence sur la nécessité pour les résidences permanentes pour les élèves de sexe masculin. “Un autre de nos besoins qui prévaut est un dortoir pour les garçons. Nous avons une école de formation de Bible pour préparer les travailleurs à prendre l’Évangile de Jésus Christ. Cette année, nous avons 11 garçons et 7 filles ; l’année dernière nous avons eu 10 garçons et 7 filles.” Encore une fois, en 1951, m. Vargas a écrit, « nous avons ouvert à nouveau notre école de vie et la vérité. Nous avons 10 dans le département des affaires féminines et 8 dans le département et les hommes. L’esprit de l’école est très bon. Nous sommes confrontés au problème de bâtiments adaptés pour accueillir nos jeunes dans notre école de formation - vie et la vérité. »

Dans son rapport d’août 1955, dit-il, « membres de Memar ont fait des sacrifices suprêmes et ont été privés des choses plus nécessaires de la vie pour répondre aux demandes croissantes de l’ouvrage. Notre vie et notre vérité Bible Training Schéol, à Chihuahua est l’un des miracles modernes. Le Seigneur a envoyé des moyens de poursuivre et a touché le cœur des jeunes gens qui ont été appelées et se préparent à servir dans la vigne du Seigneur. Un jour nous espérons faire Chihuahua au centre d’une grande école chrétienne où les jeunes peuvent préparer à suivre différentes portées dans leur vie. » En avril 1957, le directeur général du CME, le révérend Lucian Smith, a écrit dans la voix, dans sa chronique “Mexique appelle,” “ici est une œuvre de Dieu qui a 32 jeunes chrétiens dans une école biblique. Ne pas demander ou recevoir des frais de scolarité. Voici une œuvre qui doit être élargi fortement, mais est handicapée par le manque de fonds. Si vous ou moi n’ont pas « BRING dîmes dans l’entrepôt » ou donner nos offrandes de l’amour pour cette grande œuvre de l’église méthodiste, il est sang sur nos mains. Nous sommes responsables de milliers de personnes qui ne viennent pas au Christ et vont en enfer. Que Dieu ait pitié de nous. » La dernière entrée significative dans la voix de l’école a été d’avril 1st et une autre en novembre 1961.

En avril, frère Jim Mumme, puis Président du Conseil mondial des Missions a écrit, « quatre étudiants de l’école de vérité et de vie seront diplômés cette année, deux hommes et deux femmes, toutes les personnes très intelligentes et consacrées, dont la formation va équiper leur leadership dans leurs églises. L’école est située dans les bâtiments près de l’église à Chihuahua et propriétés près de la maison du Dr. Vargas. Dix-neuf élèves ont assisté à cette année. » En novembre, il a écrit, “partie de la vie et la vérité biblique école occupe les propriétés qui appartiennent à m. Vargas, qui passera à leurs héritiers, car elle est insuffisante et doit être remplacé. Cette école biblique est au niveau secondaire et doit être avancée pour des étudiants plus matures diplômés. » La vie et l’Institut biblique de vérité est resté à Chihuahua jusqu’à ce que le Dr. Vargas sont rentrés au ciel en 1965.

Le révérend Vernon Perkins a été envoyé par le Board of Missions monde en 1965 pour servir à Parral (Mexique) où la Mission disposait de propriété. La Conférence a décidé que l’école biblique devrait être transférée à Parral et son nom a changé à la vie et l’Institut biblique de vérité. Révérend Perkins a été nommé directeur de l’Institut à Parral, où il resta actif jusqu’en 1973, quand il a été fermé pendant un an.

En 1974, la vie et la vérité Bible Institute a été déplacé à la ville de Torréon, Coah, où aujourd’hui il y a des bâtiments excellents. L’instrument utilisé pour ce dernier changement de Dieu était le révérend Leroy E. Lindsey, Jr. Un nombre considérable de missionnaires, les pasteurs et les étudiants est passés par cette école, qui continue à former ceux appelés à servir dans la vigne du Seigneur. À l’heure actuelle, l’Institut a dix étudiants en formation pour le ministère. Quatre de MEMAR et six de sœur églises Torréon. Les portes de l’ITL restent ouvertes pour l’honneur de Dieu.

Psaume 126:5-6 dit: “ Ceux qui sèment avec larmes vont récolter avec chants de joie.

Ceux qui sortent en pleurant, transportant des graines à semer, sera de retour avec des chants de joie, transportant des gerbes avec eux.”

Je me souviens de mon père, le révérend Benito Carbajal, me raconter beaucoup d’histoires. Une fois que nous avons parlé le premier voyage, qu’il a pris avec six croyants de l’Institut de la Bible, y compris bro. Ezeqiel Vargas. C’était le 5 mai 1947, lorsqu’ils ont voyagé en train à Creel. Là, ils ont embauché un conducteur de mule qui n’a que trois chevaux. Parce qu’il n’y a plus de gens que les chevaux, ils sont relayés les chevaux d’équitation et de marcher pendant leur voyage de sept jours. C’était la première fois que mon père a vu Guachochi. Dieu a donné à mon père le désir de retourner à Guachochi et commencer le travail d’évangélisation.

Mes parents se sont rencontrés à Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosi, à l’école biblique de l’église de pèlerinage où les deux étaient des étudiants. Ils ont choisi d’unir leur vie dans le mariage dans la ville de Chihuahua, le 21 août, l948. Leur première maison était la maison qui avait construit les missionnaires aux États-Unis. Bien qu’il n’était pas encore fini, ils y vécurent avec la vision d’ériger un monument à la gloire de Dieu. À ce moment-là, ils ont dit il y avait des colonies isolées qui existait dans la région. Les habitants étaient surtout Tarahumara. Il y avait seulement une chapelle catholique au centre de ce qui allait bientôt devenir la ville de Guachochi.

Au fil des ans, plusieurs missionnaires travaillaient en étroite collaboration avec mon père. Je me souviens de frère Harold Kelly, un des missionnaires qui ont aidé financièrement, physiquement et spirituellement pour diverses périodes de temps. Mon père a également parlé d’un autre missionnaire influent, David DeHaven, que je n’ai jamais rencontré. Je me souviens très bien le missionnaire Dorothy Holman, qui est venus à Guachochi. Elle a été missionnaire pendant de nombreuses années, travaillant avec mes parents. Que ce soit avec l’aide de missionnaires ou pas, mes parents n’a cessé de prêcher la parole de Dieu. Ils vivent à Guachochi entre 11 à 15 ans. Éleveurs de près ou de loin leur a rendu visite à pied et parfois à cheval. Mes parents a souvent marchant kilomètres, touchés par toutes sortes de températures, souvent avec beaucoup de besoins de leurs propres pour apporter la semence de l’Evangile à la plus éloignée des lieux. Au cours de ces années, ils ont passé plusieurs hivers en cellule d’isolement. Parfois la neige fermé le peu de routes qui existaient à créer une pénurie de vivres et le courrier. Ils ont souvent manqué de nourriture, survivant sur les cultures, qu’ils pourraient conserver de la récolte de l’été précédent. Lettres a pris des mois à arriver donc ils ont perdent le contact avec leur famille pendant de longues périodes de temps. Vivant dans cette région reculée, ma mère devait être une cuisinière, couturière, baker, infirmière... et bien plus encore. Mon père était un pasteur. Et avec toutes les obligations que cela implique, lui, aussi, était un maçon, ouvrier, cuisinier,

menuisier et plus. Les gens qui les connaissaient toujours rappellent mes parents visitant les maisons, les deux ensembles. Ils racontent comment mes parents constamment servi, prêchaient et a porté le drapeau de l’Évangile comme une priorité. Ils disent qu’ils jamais entendant se plaindre quand économiquement les temps étaient durs. Mon père disait à plusieurs reprises: « Dieu y pourvoira »... et Dieu toujours fourni.

C’était merveilleux !

Je me souviens de ma mère chantant, “je vis par la foi en mon Sauveur... Aucune crainte... mon Seigneur est fidèle dans la rude lutte et ne me quittera jamais... Je vis par la foi. Puis il m’a sauvé. » C’est l’un des nombreux hymnes qui a laissé une marque sur mon cœur depuis son enfance, pour la confiance et la confiance avec laquelle ils ont tous chantaient. Maintenant il y a de nombreux pasteurs qui ont traversé la zone Guachochi, travail avec amour et son enthousiasme pour les mêmes raisons que mes parents ont fait.

Ils ont travaillé pour répandre l’Évangile de notre Seigneur et Sauveur Jésus-Christ. De nombreux laïcs ont poursuivi leur travail loyalement servir Dieu là aussi bien. J’aime à rappeler qu’il a commencé avec l’appel de Dieu sur mon père de partager l’Évangile dans la vallée de Guachochi.

Mes parents m’ont appris à aimer cette terre, mais surtout à aimer l’œuvre du Seigneur. Pour le servir n’importe où, en toutes circonstances, à tout moment et dans n’importe quelle situation. Ils ont souligné que je ne sers pas seulement en mots ou pour être vu ou reconnu, mais pour servir de mes actions. Ils ont inculqué leur amour pour servir Dieu en moi en définissant le meilleur exemple de la façon de le servir. Leur souhait était que je sers Dieu avec passion, témoignage et la livraison. Rêve de mon père, sa vie, servait Dieu dans Guachochi. Jamais, ils ont laissé ici, pour leurs cœurs ont continué à vivre pour toujours dans ce lieu avec vous qu’ils ont aimaient inconditionnellement. Dans les dernières années, ma mère n’a pas retourné à Guachochi. Cependant, elle portait toujours Guachochi dans son cœur, tout comme mon père a fait. Elle était toujours à la recherche pour n’importe quelle excuse parler de l’amour de mon père pour cette terre.

Son amour était pour les Tarahumaras, les montagnes et l’œuvre du Seigneur. Son cœur était à jamais à Guachochi.

La graine a été plantée et reproduite, et mes parents n’a fait que dire: « je suis ici, envoyez-moi. » C’est ce que Dieu nous demande de faire tous les jours.

Je finis mon écriture avec le titre d’une autre chanson préférée de ma mère, « ai-je donné le meilleur à Christ? » C’est quelque chose que je m’efforce de faire tous les jours.

La Tarahumara Mission terrain La Mission d’évangélisation mexicaine est née le 6 novembre 1926. Son fondateur, Dr. Ezekiel B. Vargas était un homme avec un zèle profond pour le salut des âmes.

Les Tarahumaras a toujours occupent une place importante dans son cœur. Au début, Dieu appela sœur Carlota Quezada pour travailler dans les montagnes. Plus tard, les frères José et Maria Flores a reçu l’appel en tant que missionnaires. Ils s’installèrent à San Juanito, d’où ils ont pris l’Evangile aux Indiens. Ils ont eu le privilège de voir leurs efforts couronnés de la conversion d’un certain nombre des Tarahumaras. En 1924, Dieu a fait un appel spécial à Miss Alta Dixon. En 19 et étant inconscient à cause d’une de ses nombreuses maladies, Dieu lui a montré un village dans une montagne. L’année suivante, elle a reconnu la place quand elle arrivait à San Juanito. Elle s’est jointe à l’œuvre missionnaire avec les frères José et Maria Flores en tenant l’Évangile à cheval à des endroits reculés dans les montagnes. Dieu s’est plu à utiliser la sœur Dixon et ses collègues à fonder l’école de Dixon, où des centaines a reçu l’éducation formelle et l’Évangile.

M. Vargas a continué d’envoyer des ouvriers à prêcher les Tarahumaras, y compris hautement considéré frères comme le révérend Benito Carbajal qui vivait à Guachochi et Kirare. Avec l’arrivée des missionnaires Alex et Mae Hoover, l’Évangile a été prêché dans Samachique qui pendant cinq ans, tandis que le missionnaire Rev. Alfredo Guerrero a été créé en Choguita, où il servit pendant douze ans. Plus tard, Dieu, dans sa miséricorde infinie envers les plus vulnérables, élevé comme missionnaires Jose et Cristina Macías, secondés par la Congrégation de Hermosa dans la ville de Cuauhtémoc.

L’œuvre missionnaire de Tarahumara a commencé le 10 novembre 1992, avec la première église de Humira. Cristina Valenzuela étant Tarahumara autochtones de la région de Samachique qui, l’Évangile a été présenté avec la culture, de langue et de coutumes de la Tarahumara. Dès approbation de Dieu était brevet après que conversion réussi un après l’autre. Pendant quatre ans, frère Moises Corral Villegas a fait un excellent travail en tant que missionnaire. De même, frère Hector Pompa et Anastancio Duran. À l’heure actuelle, les travaux de Tarahumara a environ deux cents fidèles à différents points de prédication avec deux églises déjà construites. Le “printemps de vie” (Bajichi ke sinus akicheami) dans Akigochi, a été construit dans la municipalité de Basihuare avec les ressources de l’église méthodiste évangélique. L’église de Betania dans Samachique qui et les différents groupes qui n’ont pas un bâtiment mais relèvent du ministère de posent des frères chrétiens. Les travailleurs non-médicaux de Tarahumara, qui ont été fidèles au fil des ans incluent frère Lorenzo Duran, Venancio Perez, Tranquilino Capírachi, Cristina Duran, Manuel Batista, Martin Torres et Domingo. Ce qui est de Dieu demeure. Un jour, le feu a été allumé dans les montagnes et continue de se propager à nouvelles villes et villages. Les dirigeants autochtones eux-mêmes prennent l’Évangile à d’autres endroits ; les frères de Tarahumara ont une vision forte des missions. Nous prions que Dieu suscitera davantage de travailleurs à répondre à l’appel. Je tiens à exprimer ma gratitude envers le Metho évangélique... en tenant l’Évangile à d’autres endroits ; les frères de Tarahumara ont une vision forte des missions. Quatre Centres de Missionnaire Il y avait un moment où la Mission d’évangélisation mexicaine avait quatre centres missionnaires de force et d’influence de portée considérable. Pendant ce temps, l’accent sur les missions causé de nouvelles missions et nouvelles églises seront plantées autour de chaque nouvelle église mère. Cela s’est produit dans tous les centres de mission quatre : Chihuahua, Chih., Zac de San Salvador, San Junito, Chih. et Parral, Chih. Chaque centre de mission avait une démarche particulière à faire avancer le Royaume de Dieu.

L’église de la porte ouverte à Chihuahua a été forte dans l’église de plantation. Il est considéré comme l’église mère de la Mission d’évangélisation mexicain. L’église de porte ouverte a vu un renouveau sans précédent sous le ministère de m. Ezéquiel B. Vargas comme fondateur. Le travail a été prolongé pour atteindre la Sierra Tarahumara Indiens et plusieurs États dans le centre du Mexique. Cette croissance a permis un grand nombre de communautés pour recevoir l’Évangile de missionnaires et poser des travailleurs qui en partenariat avec le début de la vie et de vérité Bible Institute en 1949. Notre vision de l’église de la porte ouverte au Chihuahua est de voir un renouveau qui, une fois de plus, multiplier les églises au Mexique et répandre l’Évangile dans de nouvelles régions. Notre prière est que Dieu utilisera son peuple à davantage de son Royaume et retrouver la force et l’influence assisté sous la direction du Dr. Vargas et ceux qui ont travaillé avec lui. Avec l’aide de Dieu, cela est possible.

Le travail au centre missionnaire de San Salvador exerça son ministère à des centaines d’enfants dans le héros du Mexique pensionnat et école primaire. Relevant du ministère de grands missionnaires comme Miss Mary Massey, Miss Hester Easley, Miss Fern Abbott, John et Ruth Pawelski et frère Stanislao Ortega (Tanis), desservant ainsi que de nombreux pasteurs, l’Église s’est épanouie ayant un rayonnement important sur les villages et les communautés à proximité. Les familles arriverait à chariots de bœuf au centre Mission San Salvador le vendredi et le samedi pour un week-end plein de relance et d’enseignements spirituels. Nous prions que le Seigneur accordera à San Salvador la bénédiction de redevenir un champ fertile de mission.

Déjà, nous sommes encouragés comme l’église locale, Bethel, montre des signes de reprise. Les prédicateurs laïcs se sont engagés à visiter les villages de partager l’Évangile. Nous avons foi que San Salvador seront au centre des missions une fois de plus et que l’école rouvrira ses portes. Nous sommes convaincus que les meilleurs jours de San Salvador sont encore à venir.

Au centre missionnaire de San Juanito, le travail a été créé sous le ministère de ces précieux travailleurs comme Miss Alta Dixon, Miss Carolyn Burry, Miss Harriet Troutwein, Lois Raser, Jose et Maria Flores, entre autres. San Juanito missionnaires et des pasteurs a prêché l’Évangile parmi un large éventail de communautés de communautés indigènes de la Sierra Tarahumara pour les étudiants du Collège de Dixon. Beaucoup de diplômés de l’école de Dixon hautement respecté, racontent comment ils chérissaient l’influence de ces missionnaires et leur partage le plan du Salut qui a changé leur vie à jamais. Dans toutes les communautés de San Juanito, les souvenirs de ces missionnaires précieux et pasteurs qui enseigne la parole de Dieu et les miracles que dont ils étaient témoins de cette époque sont encore rappeler. Malheureusement le grand mouvement missionnaire qui s’est tenue à San Juanito n’est pas aussi fort maintenant. Nous nous demandons, il ressuscitera en tant que centre des missions ? Ils ouvriront la nouvelle prédication points ?

Dixon Collège rouvrira ses portes pour former les jeunes appelés au ministère ou service chrétien dans les églises locales ? Nous prions que l’esprit qui a déjà existé dans les anciens missionnaires sera de retour. Notre vision est que l’école de Dixon rouvrira ses portes comme une école de formation et San Juanito va devenir la plate-forme de lancer un projet très ambitieux missionnaire pour continuer à atteindre les Tarahumaras pour le Christ.

L’église à Parral, après avoir eu un nombre important de missions et d’églises sous leurs soins, a été une influence chrétienne vivante. Comme l’église de la porte ouverte à Chihuahua, églises ont été plantés et l’Évangile a été partagé parmi le peuple de Parral. Mais comme les autres centres missionnaires, Parral est tombée à l’eau trop. Il ouvrira une nouvelle fois des missions et des églises ? Néhémie 4:2 dit: «peuvent-ils apporter des pierres à la vie de ces tas de gravats — brûlé comme ils sont? “ Afin que nous nous posions, ces centres missionnaires feront revivre à nouveau ? Dieu visitera la Mission d’évangélisation mexicaine une fois de plus ? Va nous être témoins d’un second miracle du renouveau ? Par la foi, nous voyons dans l’expectative les jours futurs de notre dénomination réaliser God´s objet. Nous voyons un groupe de travailleurs engagés qui soulèvent son nom en haut. Peut le fardeau spirituel pour MEMAR jamais s’écarter de notre cœur.

Frère Ricardo Rodriguez – démarcheur pour Christ Partie de notre patrimoine dans la Mission d’évangélisation mexicaine, est l’existence de travailleurs comme frère Ricardo Rodriguez. Il était un colporteur, un homme dévoué à la vente et la distribution des tracts biblique et chrétienne dans les zones rurales de Zacatecas. Comme circuit prédicateurs au méthodisme, frère Ricardo marchait les communautés prêcher la parole de Dieu. Dans l’histoire du méthodisme, un circuit est une zone géographique donnée, à laquelle la conférence affecté des prédicateurs. Le travail du prédicateur circuit a été le plus sublime, car le prédicateur chargé son pack animal que ce soit un cheval ou un âne, fait en sorte d’avoir suffisamment de Bibles, livres et brochures et effectué le tour du circuit ou route de prédication. Certains prédicateurs ont duré de quelques jours à plusieurs mois pour couvrir une zone donnée. A son retour, ils pourraient témoigner au sujet des conversions, de persécution et de grandes victoires lors de leurs voyages. Comme frère Ricardo García 1902-1952, qui a subi une régénération totale après avoir été un meurtrier, un mari alcoolique et mauvais, Dieu lui a changé et il a consacré sa vie à apporter l’Évangile, distribuant des tracts de l’Évangile pendant de nombreuses années, jusqu’en 1952 où dans son dernier voyage, a été tué par des fanatiques religieux du Mexique.

Démarcheurs ont été un élément très important dans l’histoire de l’église évangélique en Amérique latine. Même si aujourd’hui, c’est un ministère presque éteint, Dieu peut susciter des frères avec le zèle à prêcher et à distribuer les écritures. Nous remercions le ministère des Frères fidèles comme Ricardo Rodriguez.
