I won’t go into all the details so as to bore you, but I let this Tuesday slip up on me. Please forgive me!

It’s been a pretty busy week-and-a-half. Judy and I traveled to EMC Headquarters to help host the Haggard School of Ministry, flying an overnight red-eye that went pretty wrong. After multiple delays, a flight cancellation, and having to be diverted to an airport three-hours away from Indianapolis, we finally did arrive late afternoon the next day.
The weekend involved a few logistic details, but the highlight was the opportunity to preach at Martinsville EMC. I always enjoy being with that loving faith family, and that morning was indeed a joy. Travis, Dennis, and all the other committed lay people there are amazing servants.

The week at the Haggard School with our professors, Drs. Art and Melody Wilt, Dr. Vic Reasoner, Dr. John Lindsey, and Rev. Aaron Withrow, was stupendous. The subjects of focus were Theology, Romans, the Pentateuch, and Conflict Resolution. I only had the pleasure of taking in small segments of each of the four classes, and those moments were so inspirational and informational, but I know from hearing from students that these were some life-changing class sessions.

I will be making this week at Headquarters a fixture in my schedule for sure. If you are contemplating ministerial education, please strongly consider enrolling in the Haggard School, and making the face-to-face week in the Summer a part of your plan as well. Even if you are an Elder, and have finished your preparatory education for ministry, the classes offered by the Haggard School of Ministry are great opportunites for continuing education.
Thanks to every student, and professor! May the Lord continue to build into your lives and ministerial service.
During the week, Superintendent Withrow actually included his family in the conclusion of one of his class sessions in which he was talking about discipleship They were a huge hit, from what I’ve heard. And they are just a delight to be around no matter what setting in which you may find them!!

Here is a snapshot of them in the lobby of our International headquarters.
