General Conference | July 26-29, 2022 | Black Mountain, NC

Just a little over a year from now, EMC’s General Conference 2022 will be taking place at Ridgecrest Conference Center in Black Mountain, NC. While that seems a long way off, from the perspective of planning it is right around the corner. Dr. Ed Stetzer and Rev. Jim Harriman are scheduled as special speakers, youth and children’s ministries are underway, EMC registration details, and the conference agenda are being worked out. You can help with the planning by marking your calendars to ‘SAVE THE DATE” for Tuesday, July 26 - Friday, July 29, 2022 and then reading further for some important GC2022 information.

RIDGECREST RESERVATIONS ARE OPEN. Your lodging and meal reservations will be made separately from your EMC registration. You will make your own room reservation directly with Ridgecrest. Your 8 meals during the conference will be included in your reservation. All you need to secure your reservation is the first night’s lodging as a deposit. Final payment for the remaining nights and meal tickets will be payable to Ridgecrest when you arrive at the conference.

If you are reserving multiple rooms, it will be best to call the reservation line and they will be happy to help you. Early reservations help us determine if we need to adjust our contracted number of rooms with Ridgecrest. We appreciate those of you that can plan ahead with us. *A special note regarding meal pricing: Children ages 5 and younger are free with a paying adult, children ages 6 - 11 years old will pay the child rate of $56 for 8 meals, and children ages 12 and older will pay the adult rate of $96 for 8 meals. That covers all 8 meals during the conference. The online reservation page is not reflecting the ages and pricing correctly.

Ridgecrest is aware of this. Simply choose the correct number and age for each child in your family and the appropriate pricing will be applied at the reservation office.*

EMC Registration for GC2022 will not be open for several more months but when it is, it will be very similar to registering for a Journey session. Be watching this newsletter and your email for updated General Conference 2022 information.

The Resurrection Offering Report

Resurrection Offering During this pandemic our EMC international pastors are in need of relief in Africa, Mexico and southeast Asia.

We have an opportunity to help meet their personal needs and help alleviate some of their burdens.

This past April, the Board of World Missions invited you to participate in its first-ever Resurrection Offering, a life-giving offering for our EMC pastors around the world.

Here is how: 1) Pray for our international pastors The impossible is always possible through prayer.

2) Give up a convenience for Lent.

Give to this offering what you would spend on that convenience.

3) Give a love offering.

Our government has provided us with multiple stimulus checks to meet our needs. Has God abundantly blessed you so that you can bless others?

We asked that you make a special effort to sacrificially give for this urgent need. We encouraged you to turn your hearts toward our brothers and sisters in the sister EMC conferences of Mexico, Myanmar, CFAN, and Asia Pacific. This pandemic has had dramatic effects on them. Loss of work, loss of church income, and inflation are just some of the ways pastors and churches have suffered; not to mention the illness itself.

In This Season of Resurrection, you can give encouragment and new life around the world.

You were asked to pray and consider investing in the Kingdom of God by giving to this special offering and you have responded. It is with great joy and thankfulness that we announce the Resurrection Offering total of $10,402 as of June 30, 2021. We thank you for your willingness to give. Keeping in Touch with our Global Partners The Mexico Evangelistic Mission Hosts their 95th General Conference The M.E.M. is our oldest EMC Global Partner. With churches dotted around North-Central Mexico, the M.E.M. has a deeplyheld desire to expand the Kingdom of our Lord and Christ.

Bill and Lisa Walker, along with Max Edwards and Brian Hammond, traveled to Torreon, Coahuila, to attend the 2021 gathering of pastors and lay people from June 30 to July 2.

Updates From Around The World Mexican Evangelistic Mission

It was a time of celebration, reporting, prayer, preaching, fellowship, and conference business. Especially since 2020 did not afford an opportunity for a face-to-face meeting, the session was an amazing time to re-kindle friendships and to encourage one another. It has been a difficult year, and to be together was a priceless gift.

Since the Conference just concluded, we thought to share several pictures with you in this July Kerusso, as Bill Walker finalizes his update which he will include in next month’s issue.
