Staff Spotlight Demi - Spout Springs Library
What's your favorite part about working at our library?

“My favorite part of working at the library is being surrounded by people - patrons and coworkers - that are all excited about reading, and love sharing book recs!”
What's one thing about your job that might surprise people?
“One thing about my job that might surprise people is that sometimes I really get a workout while I work - books are heavy!”

When you're not at the library, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
“When I'm not at the library, I enjoy reading, playing video games, and crafting chainmail armor and jewelry”
What's your favorite local spot in Hall County (or surrounding area) to visit when you're not working?
“My favorite semi-local spot is Barnes & Noble at the Mall of Georgia, or Video Game Traders!”
What's your favorite book and why?
I have MANY favorite books, but one that stands out is Gideon the Ninth, by Tamsyn Muir. I love a good space opera, and this book has it all: arcane science, loveable (or hateable!) characters, and emotional depth lurking beneath a surface of puns and memerelated jokes. I've read it three times and am still discovering details I missed!”

The Georgia Art League is a group of diverse artists of varying interests creating art in different media. Our members have created works in fiber art, wood sculpture, pastel drawings, collages, photography and, of course, painting. We all come together from different backgrounds for the sole purpose of creating and exhibiting our art for enjoyment. We meet once a month at noon on the third Thursday downstairs at the Quinlan Visual Arts Center in Gainesville, Ga. (unless otherwise noted). If you are interested in learning more about this group, contact the President of Georgia Art League Deborah W. Ollinger anartlover@juno.com
