INTRODUCTION ABOUT US HALLA was founded in 1992 by friends Jiří Jelínek and Karel Květoň. From the beginning, HALLA has been engaged in the production and sale of luminaires and has gained a reputation for its quality products, philosophy, and for being a reliable business partner and leading producer of technical design lighting that sensitively and tastefully resonates with interior spaces. Today, HALLA exports its luminaires to more than 40 countries all over the world.

DEVELOPMENT As we develop our luminaires we always look for new ways that lead to progress and innovation. We use modern software tools for modelling and simulation, calibration, and methods of measurement to accelerate the development of new products. The uniqueness of our production comprises perfect process control, and traceability of all operations and components. Our design and modelling software provides functions that help us in the fields of thermal management and lighting specification during the luminaires creation process. Our new development laboratory provides with an integrating sphere and goniophotometer, allowing lighting parameters to be verified during individual stages of development.


RESEARCH The future of lighting in everyday life lies in complete user confidence in lights, control systems, automatic lighting settings as well as being able to control colour temperature. Just like scientific teams all over the world, we also study the influences of light on the human body. Human Centric Lighting addresses the selection of light sources, the light spectrum, and adjustment to light intensity and colour temperature during the daily cycle. Along with quality luminaires, we also provide information about how to light properly, since even correct lighting in daily life influences our health. We are proud that we bring light into the life of millions of users all over the world.

Design

Our luminaires designs improve every year. We are open to new technologies, ideas, and trends. This is why we cooperate with both experienced designers and design students. The bottom line for us is mutual understanding and this harmony results in our characteristic luminaires. Design awards such as the Red Dot Design Award, IF Design Award, the German Design Award, Lighting Design Awards and a prestigious 5th place in the Red Dot Design Ranking 2016 prove that we have chosen the right way.

SPECIAL LED LUMINAIRES REALWHITE Description: Light applications often require adaptation to the displayed items and the selection of a spectrum which offers colour and presentation properties underlining the primary colours of these items. Colours are presented via a light spectrum. White light is represented by a composition of lights of various colours. When composing the spectrum of a light source, our goal is to focus on certain colours or chromatic hues. In this respect, light sources which emphasize the white colour form a special category. For these light sources, colour rendering is greater than 90 but the spectrum is shifted in order to emphasize white colour. Luminaires with these light sources are marked as REALWHITE and are suitable for lighting smaller items with a significant share of white. These luminaires then find applications especially in specific shops such as drug stores, copy shops or pharmacies.

Applications: When lighting items with a large colour spectrum that is dominated by white, then using standard light sources with a colour rendering index of Ra90 leads to generally nice results for coloured items, but white colour looks dusky and is not very prominent. This in turn makes colourful items look dim and grey. REALWHITE luminaires allow the white to come into the forefront, providing it with a stronger and cleaner feel. Items lighted using REALWHITE are more prominent, and even though results for colourful items remain very good thanks to a colour rendering index of Ra90, white items become much harder to miss.



STRONGCOLOUR Description: LED light sources can adapt their optical properties in order to match their light spectrum to the desired application. And light sources used in STRONGCOLOUR luminaires achieve the maximum possible adaptation of light. Thanks to their special spectrum, these light sources emphasize a specific colour in displayed items in order to underline the desired colour effect. Luminaires with these light sources are often applied for instance when displaying pastry, meat or glass. They represent a specifically designed group of luminaires suitable for one specific application.

Applications: These products display a uniform spectral nature when lighting precisely defined products such as meat or pastry. If we use standard light sources for such products, then the spectral composition of light is not adapted to the displayed items – leading to light more prominently displaying a different colour spectrum than the natural or desired one for such products. This in turn leads to the displayed items being less optically appealing. Specialized STRONGCOLOUR luminaires allow us to emphasize the colour component which is dominant in the selected group of products. This allows us to carefully target the visual properties we want to present and underline, in turn leading to greater interest in such products. The light spectrum for these specialized light sources is defined to match a specific application.



REALCOLOUR Description: Luminaires provide artificial light for objects in areas and times when it is not possible to use daylight. Artificial light sources are often meant as a replacement for daylight. When light sources do not have the spectral qualities of daylight, there are differences in the colours of displayed objects when viewed in daylight compared to artificial light. The fidelity of colours is captured by the Ra colour rendering index – daylight has a value of 100, and lower values of light sources correspond to less colour fidelity in displayed objects. Light sources used in luminaires marked as REALCOLOUR offer a very high colour rendering index (at least 97), and as such provide the best approximation of daylight. Such luminaires are used in the most demanding applications, such as galleries, studios and presentation rooms focusing on the presentation of coloured items.

Applications: The artificial light of standard luminaires distorts individual colours on the displayed objects; the parameters of daylight differ from the parameters of light from standard light sources. This means that using standard luminaires leads to displayed items losing their real visual properties, and the displayed colours do not correspond to the real ones. This consequently results in a suboptimal viewing experience for the displayed items. REALCOLOUR luminaires have a colour rendering index of Ra97, which means that they are significantly closer to daylight than standard luminaires. The colours of displayed items are nearly identical to those achieved by daylight. Thanks to the fidelity of displayed colours, viewers can enjoy a full and undistorted visual experience, as is in fact necessary for certain applications.



TUNABLE WHITE Description: When lighting objects which are replaced from time to time by items with different colour properties, it is possible to adjust the lighting system to this application. Some colour spectrums place emphasis on cold colours, while others underline warm ones. TUNABLE WHITE is a perfect solution for instance for motor shows, presentation centres or galleries.

Applications: An impractical and costly solution would be to always replace the lighting system in order to match the displayed object. A much easier solution is to use TUNABLE WHITE luminaires which use luminaires that have a tunable colour temperature. This allows very easy adaptation of the lighting system – by simply switching a specific control element – and thus quickly and economically change the lighting properties of the system. This means that one can present various types of objects at a single place, practically without interruption. Adapting the properties of light is an ideal solution for larger single-color applications that may change over time.



RETAIL LUMINAIRES A new range of luminaires for retail areas with special LED light sources. There are thousands of shops full of goods in the world, all awaiting their customers. But customers unconsciously prefer to buy goods which are visually appealing. Using the correct lighting for shops and displayed products is a part of every successful sales strategy. Securing lighting in retail areas has long been part of our business portfolio. However, in 2016 we introduced a new range of luminaires designed specifically for retail, with special LED light sources focusing on lighting of specific products, applications and colours. Our luminaires are built in a way allowing their flexible adaptation to the currently displayed goods. Special LED light sources will underline the natural colours, brightness, hue and structure of products. The design of selected luminaires goes well with both luxurious shops as well as shops selling high-turnover goods. We strongly believe that HALLA luminaires will emphasize and underline the attractiveness and appeal of your products.
