PORTFOLIO. DESIGN PHILOSOPHY Firm believer that designing architecture is almost the equivalent as designing clothes. The design needs to be comfortable, suitable and eye-catching. My designs focus largely on user experience. Users are the priority of every design and my designs should cater to them.My belief is that with every project, there will be problems and it is my responsibility as a designer to shed light on those problems and work on creative solutions that bring about better user experience. Every project starts on a blank page. As best as I can, I do not attach myself to any architecture style and that allows me to create interesting and creative designs for every new project that I work on.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Envisioning Changi Point as an elderly focused area. With the increase in elderly population, Changi Point will serve as a restorative environment for the elderly to grow healthily in the near future. Proposed community center and clinics allows for the residents of Changi to care for the elderly and plan for activities to include both the elderly and younger generation to interact and gain knowledge from one another.

SITE PLAN INFORMATION Current site is mostly 90% greenery surrounded with trees and some houseing for the Sailing Club members. Site is usually quiet and very dark at night due to low lighting in the area. Pros of site is the unobstructed view out to the sea 09

Given such a large site boundary, the strategy was to create a structure that utilizes the whole area while also giving enough space for nature. The proposed structure allows for users to circulate throughout the whole area, experiencing different activities. The structure also focuses on the view to the sea, hence all around, there is unobstructed view to the sea from the structure. The building is then split into different purposes to target different users for example students to the Educational Block. 10

[ BUILDING TECHNOLOGY ] PART DIAGRAM
For the Building Technology module, a part of the structure is chosen and we are tasked to focus into the different details of what and how the structure is able to work. The 3D model above showcases the part diagram of the “farm railing” down to the column. How the water is able to flow in the soil is also researched and the idea for this project is to place a pipe inside the column for water to flow down. With this technique, the pipe is hidden from plain sight and won’t affect the aesthethics of the structure. 12

To create a multi sensorial garden for the students of APSN with the theme of the project being PLAY + LEARN. The garden is situated at the heart of the school with an unobstructed view of the canteen past the playground.

SITE PLAN INFORMATION The given site is located in the courtyard of APSN Katong School. The site boundary is considerably small but it is able to be seen from all around the different levels of the school. Site is known for keeping students calm but the garden is not suitable for the students of APSN due to the poor conditions of the furnitures there.

For the students. This attracts some students due to the bright colours and to liven up the mood of the dark shaded area under the mango tree.
