HISTORY
In 1972 Geoff and Jan Gauvin opened their first Salon ‘De Gauvin’ in South Australia. Working in the industry hands on, Jan and Geoff found a gap in the professional market when it came to bringing quality professional products to the broader hairdressing community and created ‘The Haircare Company’ in 1974 to do just that.
Geoff and Jan worked from their home (head office), and their back shed was utilised as their warehouse. Geoff focused on Business Development and Sales and Jan bought the technical expertise as a qualified hairdresser herself. The company was built on pioneering professional products for the hairdresser and supporting the trade with education. This continues today as we service more and more customers every year with our market leading brands, seamless ways to shop and highly regarded education programs. Drawing on our years of experience and knowledge of the industry, we created our market leading professional first brand Evo in 2005. It is a huge part of the success today – now in 35 countries and growing!
