We are proud of the School’s many successes and achievements, but so much of what we treasure and celebrate today has been made possible by the efforts and generosity of those who have come before us.
A legacy gift is one of the most powerful ways you can support Haileybury. It is a promise to future generations that they too will benefit from the same transformative experiences that shaped your life, or the life of someone you love. A legacy is not about what we leave behind, but about who we lift up.

Every legacy helps widen access to a Haileybury education, enrich the pupil experience and ensure that Haileybury continues to flourish for generations to come.
Whether through bursaries for bright children that otherwise would not be able to come to Haileybury, support for academic innovation or the preservation of our historic campus, your legacy will play a vital role in shaping the future.

My bursary was completely life changing for me. During my school years I had a very unstable and challenging home situation. The bursary, and boarding, allowed me to avoid the brunt of that while having a fantastic time at Haileybury and achieving results that I am very proud of.

Every legacy gift, large or small, helps us plan boldly for the future.
• £10,000 could support co-curricular activities or specialist equipment.
• £50,000 could contribute to a transformational bursary.
• £250,000+ could endow a bursary in your name.
Some supporters choose to leave a percentage of their estate after taking care of loved ones.
Others decide to fund a specific area close to their hearts, from science and sport to music or financial assistance.
We are happy to work with you and your advisers to ensure your wishes are honoured.

HOW TO LEAVE A GIFT IN YOUR WILL
To include Haileybury in your will, we suggest the following wording:
I give to Haileybury, registered charity number [insert number], [insert description of gift] for its general charitable purposes, and I declare that the receipt of the Bursar or other authorised officer shall be a full and sufficient discharge.
YOU MAY WISH TO CONSIDER:
• A fixed sum of money
• A percentage of your estate
• The residue of your estate after other gifts
• A specific asset (e.g. shares, property)
We recommend speaking with your solicitor or adviser when arranging or updating your will.

We are honoured to recognise those who have pledged a legacy to Haileybury through membership of The Oak Circle.
As a member, your commitment will be recognised in the following ways:
• An invitation to supporter events
• A welcome pack
• The opportunity to visit the School and meet The Master
• Acknowledgement on our donor board
• In Memory options, including naming opportunities and the chance to plant in memory
If you have already included Haileybury in your will, please let us know. Your commitment - no matter the amount - helps us plan for the future with confidence and gratitude. Of course, we understand that some supporters prefer to remain anonymous, and we will always respect your wishes.

Do I need to be wealthy to leave a legacy?
Not at all. Even a small percentage of your estate can make a meaningful difference.
Can I choose how my legacy is used?
Yes, we would be happy to discuss the areas of school life you may wish to support.
Can I change my mind?
Of course. You can amend your will at any time.
Is my gift tax efficient?
Legacy gifts to charity are exempt from Inheritance Tax. You may also benefit from other tax reliefs and could reduce the tax payable on your estate. Speak to your adviser for more details.
