LOWER SCHOOL ART EXHIBITION

Thursday 25 April 6.00 pm Music School

‘Hybrid’ has been a key theme for the LS1 artists. Working with collage, digital manipulations, sculptures and monoprints the pupils have explored facial features (and animal features) in depth. This has allowed them to refine their skills before drawing, distorting and sculpting. Pupils have looked at Alessandro Gallo, Kate Clark and Marc Quinn in order to provide a contextual basis to their work.

Peter Blake, Jasper Johns and Isabel Grant have inspired our LS2 artists exploring the alphabet in a variety of different ways. Artists have explored sculpture, lino printing, cyanotypes and painting representing letters in their different shapes and forms.

SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA CONCERT

Friday 26 April 7.30 pm Big School

The School’s Symphony Orchestra takes centre-stage as they perform Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6 in F Major (‘Pastorale’).

The first half of the concert will see pupils perform solo concerto movements from larger works. The evening is in conjunction with alumni of Southbank Sinfonia.

ŠKAMPA QUARTET

Tuesday 30 April 7.30 pm Bradby Hall

We are delighted to welcome back the Škampa Quartet for a weeklong residency, during which time they will lead masterclasses with individual pupils and ensembles. The performance will include works by Smetana and Dvořák in their anniversary years.

LOWER SCHOOL PRODUCTION

Thursday 9 – Saturday 11 May 7.30 pm Ayckbourn Theatre

Set in a spoofy, retro-futuristic style reminiscent of 1960s sci-fi, Return to the Forbidden Planet combines elements of rock ‘n’ roll, comedy, and classic literature. It follows the crew of the Haileybury Starship Voyager as they navigate through space, encountering strange phenomena and Shakespearean characters.

Featuring popular songs from the 1950s and 1960s, including hits like Great Balls of Fire and Good Vibrations, our Lower School production promises to be great fun. So come along, fasten your space-belts and enjoy the show!

The Master’s Library Appeal

Gala Dinner & Auction

Established in honour of Martin Collier’s tenure at Haileybury, The Master’s Library Appeal aims to raise funds for our transformative plans for the School’s library.

Situated centrally on the estate, the Grade II* listed library building houses one of the country’s most extensive school book collections. The building now requires restoration to preserve its historical significance and upgrade it into a contemporary learning environment for our pupils.

Members of the Haileybury community are cordially invited to The Master’s Library Appeal Gala Dinner and Auction, on Thursday 23 May 2024. The first event of its kind in over a decade, the evening promises to be a memorable occasion.

Our Auction prizes encompass a variety of unique offerings, from a signed F1 hat and a behind-the-scenes tour of Dame Barbara Cartland’s home to an exclusive football experience watching the Bolton Wanderers. More auction prizes will be revealed on social media in advance of the event.
