Impact Report 2025

From the Chairman

During 2025, the Haileybury Foundation continued to strengthen its role in supporting the School’s mission: to provide an exceptional education and to extend that opportunity to young people whose families would otherwise be unable to access it.
A high-quality, effective education continues to be one of the most powerful determinants of individual opportunity and broader societal progress – and Haileybury provides such an education. Through the generosity of our donor community, the Foundation continues to play a meaningful role in shaping the lives of our scholars, who will go on to contribute to the communities in which they will live, lead and serve.
Foundation performance and progress
The Foundation has continued to build its long-term financial capacity through the growth of its corpus, ending 2025 at $17 million, achieved through ongoing donor contributions and prudent investment management. When we include the pledged
bequests from our Winged Heart Society members, our grand total would rise meaningfully above $20 million.
This financial strength underpins our ability to deliver on our objectives with confidence and continuity – indeed, our investment income alone is now able to fund the majority of our annual scholarship program.
The impact of these scholarships extends beyond academic outcomes, contributing to the personal development, confidence and future aspirations of recipients.
Defining impact
The Foundation’s impact is most clearly seen in the experiences and outcomes of the students it supports. Across the program, a consistent pattern emerges: when barriers to opportunity are removed, students respond with determination, engagement and achievement. They make full use of the educational environment available to them and, in doing so, often exceed expectations placed upon them, as you will discover in subsequent articles.

Importantly, the presence of scholarship students also contributes to the broader school community. A more diverse cohort strengthens the educational experience for all students, fostering a deeper understanding of different perspectives and preparing young people for participation in an increasingly complex world.
Context and strategic importance
The importance of the Foundation’s work continues to increase in a changing global context. Rapid technological, economic and social developments are reshaping the capabilities required for future success.
In this environment, education must extend beyond the delivery of knowledge to the development of judgement, adaptability and leadership – yet access to this type of education remains uneven.
The Foundation’s purpose is therefore both enduring and increasingly relevant: to reduce barriers to access and to support an educational model that equips students
not only to succeed, but to contribute meaningfully to society.
Strategic direction
Looking ahead, your Foundation continues to focus on our 2030 goal – 50 and 50 by ’30 – being $50 million in corpus and pledged bequests and 50 funded scholarships by the end of the year 2030. During 2026, we are continuing to work with the School and our donor community on our strategic priorities, including:
> Expanding access to scholarships
Increasing the proportion of students who can benefit from a Haileybury education, regardless of financial means.
> Enhancing the depth of support provided Ensuring that scholarship funding enables full participation in all aspects of school life.
> Strengthening the Foundation’s financial base
Continuing to grow the corpus to provide long-term sustainability, resilience and the capacity to innovate.
> Supporting areas of strategic importance
Including Indigenous education initiatives, global engagement and the ongoing development of teaching and learning programs.
Conclusion
The Haileybury Foundation is now in a genuine position of strength, both financially and in terms of community support.
Though the task ahead remains significant, our progress achieved to date provides confidence in the Foundation’s ability to continue expanding its impact and fulfilling its purpose.
On behalf of the Board, I thank all those who have contributed to the Foundation’s success and to the opportunities it continues to create.
Neil Sutcliffe Chairman Haileybury Foundation

From the Vice Principal
The Haileybury Foundation is proud to reflect on a year of exceptional achievement and growth, marked by record levels of philanthropic support and deepening engagement across our community. This has been our most successful year to date, with unprecedented donations, a significant increase in confirmed bequests, and outstanding participation in Foundation events and gatherings. These outcomes speak to the strength of connection within the Haileybury community and a shared commitment to ensuring the School’s ongoing excellence and accessibility.
Throughout the year, our supporters – comprising past students, current and former parents, staff and friends of Haileybury – have demonstrated remarkable generosity. Their contributions have enabled the Foundation to continue its vital work: providing bursaries and scholarships, enhancing educational opportunities, and supporting key strategic initiatives that benefit current and future students. This past financial year has seen 600 new donors contribute to the Haileybury Foundation. The growth in our bequest program reflects a longterm confidence in Haileybury’s mission and a desire to leave a lasting legacy for generations to come.
Equally encouraging has been the strong attendance and enthusiasm shown at Foundation events. These occasions not
only celebrate our shared values but also strengthen the bonds that unite our community. From CEO | Principal luncheons to alumni gatherings, each event has played a meaningful role in building engagement and fostering a culture of giving.
As we look ahead, the Foundation is preparing to launch a new and ambitious ‘Campaign for Giving’. This campaign will offer an expanded range of opportunities for members of the Haileybury community to contribute in ways that align with their passions and values. Whether through supporting scholarships, investing in facilities, advancing academic programs or contributing to areas of greatest need, the campaign will provide an abundance of compelling reasons to give.
The coming year represents an exciting opportunity to build on our momentum. With a strong foundation, a clear vision and the continued support of our community, we are confident in our ability to make an even greater impact. Together, we will ensure that a Haileybury education remains accessible, innovative and transformative for all.
We extend our sincere gratitude to every donor and supporter whose generosity has made this success possible, and we look forward to continuing this journey together.
Scott Doran Vice Principal
From the Director of Development and Alumni Relations

Education has the capacity to change the trajectory of a young person’s life. It opens doors, builds confidence, creates opportunity and provides the foundation upon which futures are shaped. At the Haileybury Foundation, we continue to see this impact every day through the generosity of our community and the belief that every young person deserves the chance to fulfil their potential.
Throughout 2025, our supporters once again demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to creating opportunity for others. Across our scholarship and building initiatives, donors from every corner of the Haileybury community came together with a shared purpose: to ensure that future generations of students can access an exceptional education and experience all that Haileybury has to offer.
The strength of the Foundation has always rested in the diversity of those who choose to support it. Alumni who wish to give back to the school that shaped them. Staff who see first-hand the transformative impact education can have on young lives. Parents and families who recognise the importance of investing in future generations. Corporate and community supporters who understand that educational opportunity creates lasting social impact.
This year saw continued growth in support for scholarships, with almost $1 million raised for the Scholarship Fund. Behind that figure are countless acts of generosity and a collective commitment to changing lives. Scholarship support remains one of the most powerful ways our community can make a meaningful difference, providing opportunities for students whose journeys at Haileybury may otherwise never have been possible.
While financial support creates opportunity, the impact extends far beyond the classroom. Scholarships provide belonging, confidence and possibility. They allow students to participate fully in school life, develop lifelong friendships and embrace opportunities that shape who they become. Time and again we hear from scholarship recipients and their families about the profound and lasting difference that donor support has made.
Equally inspiring is the commitment of those who are thinking not only about today’s students, but future generations. Members of the Winged Heart Society have chosen to create an enduring legacy through a future gift to Haileybury. These individuals represent a remarkable belief in the long-term future of our School and in the power of education to transform lives well beyond their own lifetime.
The same spirit of generosity continues to strengthen the physical environment in which our students learn and thrive. More than 1,100 families supported the Voluntary Building Fund this year, helping ensure that Haileybury can continue providing world-class spaces that encourage learning, innovation and connection.
As you read the stories throughout this report, you will see the true impact of philanthropy at Haileybury. It is visible in the experiences of students, in opportunities made possible and in the strength of a community that continually chooses to support one another.
On behalf of the Haileybury Foundation and the many students whose lives continue to be shaped by your generosity, thank you. Your support is helping create opportunities today while building a stronger future for generations to come.

The difference you make
The stories of Haileybury Foundation’s 2026 graduating scholarship students are, collectively, a powerful reflection of what opportunity can unlock. While each journey is unique, a consistent theme emerges when barriers are removed: young people flourish – academically, socially and personally – making the most of every opportunity placed before them.
For Ahmed, the chance to represent Haileybury at the highest level in sport stands out as a defining moment. Being presented with his 1st XI Cricket cap in Year 11 was "a privilege and a joy", marking not just selection, but the culmination of years of effort and growth. That growth extended well beyond the field. "The resources and facilities allowed me to become a better version of myself," he reflects, highlighting the holistic impact of his scholarship, one that has shaped both his academic progress and his ambitions. Just as importantly, he recognises the culture that underpins that success: "Haileybury’s environment allows people to grow into the best versions of themselves and shows them that they can achieve anything they work hard for".
Growth in confidence is another powerful thread. Lachie describes his transition between campuses as transformative, opening the door to new relationships and a stronger sense of belonging. "You meet such a diverse range of people it has allowed me to speak to so many different people and further develop my communication skills." This increased confidence has not only supported his learning but empowered him to embrace opportunity, whether in the classroom, on the sporting field or beyond. Reflecting on the culture of the School, he adds, "Haileybury has such an inclusive and accepting culture I have no doubt anyone will find their place and fit in almost instantly", a sentiment that speaks to the strength of community that surrounds scholarship students.
Leadership and contribution to community are also hallmarks of the scholarship experience. Bhanu’s time

at Haileybury has been defined by both. Appointed Girls’ Sports Captain and being part of multiple premiership-winning teams, she speaks with pride about the journey: "That experience meant so much to me because it represented our team’s hard work and commitment". For Bhanu, the scholarship has enabled her to grow as a leader while contributing to the continued rise of girls’ sport, something she describes as "amazing to see". Beyond the accolades, it is the environment that has left a lasting impression: "It is an amazing community where you are empowered to make the most of every opportunity," she says, capturing the spirit of encouragement that defines the Haileybury experience.
Equally impactful are the quieter, but no less significant, personal discoveries. Noriah reflects on the importance of choosing her own academic path, shifting towards subjects that genuinely inspire her.

"This decision helped me realise the importance of understanding my own strengths and interests," she says, noting how this has strengthened her confidence and engagement. Opportunities beyond the classroom have further enriched her experience. "Being involved in Law Society has been really meaningful it has helped develop my interest and given me insight into possible future pathways." Underpinning it all is a sense of support, "Haileybury’s environment is safe, supportive and welcoming you are supported every step of the way," she adds.
For Gabriella, balance has been key. While Haileybury’s academic environment is "structured and demanding", it has also provided opportunities to pursue passions
such as dance – culminating in a national championship victory. "It was really rewarding to see it all come together" she says, emphasising both the discipline and teamwork required. Alongside this, she has developed essential life skills, from time management to independent learning. Reflecting on the broader experience, Gabriella notes, "It is an environment that encourages you to challenge yourself, take responsibility for your learning and grow in confidence", a foundation that will serve her well into the future.
Across all these reflections, one message is clear: Haileybury is more than a place of learning: it is a community where students feel supported, challenged and inspired. It is, as one student describes, "a supportive

and inclusive environment that encourages students to pursue their passions while striving for their personal best". For scholarship recipients in particular, this support is transformative, providing not just access, but the encouragement and belief needed to succeed.
The impact of the Haileybury Foundation scholarships is profound and lasting. These students leave not only with achievements to their name, but with confidence, direction and a strong sense of possibility. Their stories are a testament to the generosity of donors, whose support is quite literally changing lives by opening doors, shaping futures and empowering the next generation to achieve more than they ever thought possible.

STORY
Redefining what’s possible

Amica’s journey at Haileybury is a powerful example of how a scholarship can open doors not only to opportunity, but to transformation. Awarded the Haileybury Foundation’s Robin Fildes Scholarship in Year 9, she arrived ready to make the most of every possibility, yet even she could not have anticipated just how profoundly the experience would shape her.
Looking back, Amica describes her time at Haileybury as "truly life changing", a period in which her understanding of opportunity was completely redefined. "Before Haileybury, I felt I had already taken every opportunity available to me however, Haileybury completely redefined what opportunity looks like," she reflects. "There is such a breadth of experiences that it is impossible to do everything, but having that level of choice is something I am incredibly grateful for." It is this
abundance of opportunity, paired with the confidence to embrace it, that sits at the heart of her story.
Among her many achievements, Amica points to her involvement in the Duke of Edinburgh program as particularly formative. Over four years, the program challenged her to step beyond her comfort zone, ultimately leading to her appointment as a Duke of Edinburgh Ambassador. "From the program I learned to balance responsibilities I wouldn’t normally pursue long-term volunteering, challenging hiking expeditions and maintaining consistency in my sporting commitments," she says. "Through the program, I developed key skills such as resilience and independence, as well as forming lifelong friendships I still value today." What began as a decision prompted by a Year 9 assembly became one of the defining experiences of her school journey.
Amica’s willingness to embrace new challenges extended well beyond this program. She became the first female to play in an APS Firsts futsal team, while also immersing herself in a wide range of co-curricular opportunities: from chess club to Firsts soccer and House activities. These experiences were not simply about participation; they were about growth, ambition and discovery. "More than anything, Haileybury gave me a true understanding of what success feels like," she explains. "It has instilled in me a drive for ambition and growth, and a belief that I should never settle for less."
Central to this journey has been the strength of the Haileybury community, particularly at the City campus. Amica speaks warmly of the connections she formed and the lasting impact they have had. "The friendships you make at Haileybury stay with you for life, and I
AMICA’S

have found that to be true," she says. "There is something unique about the closeness of the campus everyone knows and supports each other, creating a genuinely tight-knit environment." This sense of belonging, she believes, is what sets Haileybury apart. "It fosters a genuine sense of belonging that draws people in and makes them truly want to be part of the community."
For prospective scholarship students, Amica’s message is clear. Haileybury is a place where inclusion is authentic and deeply embedded. "Students are genuinely grateful for the opportunities they’ve been given and carry a strong sense of respect for one another," she says. "It’s an open-minded and accepting community allowing you to settle in and feel part of the School very quickly." It is an environment where students are not only supported but
empowered to find their place and pursue their passions.
Since graduating in 2025, Amica has continued to build on the foundation established during her time at Haileybury. Now studying Arts/Science at Monash University, with plans to transition into Science/Commerce, she is balancing academic pursuits with an impressive array of professional and personal commitments. From working in event promotion with major brands and events to coaching soccer and tutoring, she is embracing every opportunity. At the same time, she has signed her first professional football contract, won a state futsal championship and will soon move to the United States on academic and sporting scholarships.
Reflecting on what lies ahead, Amica is energised by possibility. "Haileybury
has built the foundation for my drive and ability to balance multiple commitments," she says. "I am excited to continue taking on new challenges and making the most of every opportunity ahead." It is a mindset that speaks directly to the impact of her scholarship, not just in what she has achieved, but in who she has become.
Amica’s story is a compelling reminder of the profound difference that donor support makes. Through the generosity of the Haileybury Foundation community, students like Amica are given the chance to dream bigger, aim higher and achieve more than they thought possible. The result is not only individual success, but a ripple effect of ambition, leadership and contribution that will continue to shape communities for years to come.

The Winged Heart Society honours those who have indicated that they have placed, or plan to leave, a gift in their will to Haileybury.
A bequest is a wonderful way to celebrate your past, while planning for the future. It provides an opportunity to leave a legacy in recognition of a lifelong connection to Haileybury and has enormous potential to transform outcomes for future generations.
A bequest may be made to the Foundation to support the School in general or may be applied to a particular purpose – for example, towards a scholarship, or to help fund building work at a campus with which you or your family have been closely associated.
Members of the Winged Heart Society receive invitations to an annual event and other special events at the School and within the community of Haileybury Foundation donors.
