President’s Report
It has been a privilege to serve my first year as President of the Old Haileyburians Association and to witness firsthand the strength, generosity and connectedness of our alumni community.
One of the great privileges of this role is seeing the many different ways Old Haileyburians remain connected to one another and to the School long after graduation. Whether through professional networks, sporting clubs, mentoring, reunions or simply helping a fellow Haileyburian navigate a new chapter in life, our community continues to demonstrate the enduring value of belonging.
Over the past year, the OHA has remained focused on creating meaningful opportunities for connection and support at every stage of our members’ journeys. A highlight has been our university transition initiative, which connected members of the Class of 2025 with recent alumni at their destination universities. For many young people, commencing university can be both exciting and daunting. Providing a familiar face, practical guidance and a connection to the broader Haileybury network has proven invaluable, and the positive feedback received from both students and mentors has been extremely encouraging.
Another exciting development has been the launch of OHA Ignite, our new entrepreneurship program designed to support alumni with innovative ideas and emerging ventures. The enthusiasm shown by both applicants and mentors reflects the depth of talent and willingness to give back that exists within our community. With five strong applications currently under consideration, OHA Ignite is already demonstrating its potential to become an important avenue for fostering innovation, collaboration and entrepreneurial success among Old Haileyburians.
This year also marked the establishment of the OHA Soccer Club, adding another chapter to the rich sporting tradition of our alumni network. The success of our clubs has always been about far more than competition. They provide lifelong friendships, community and a sense of belonging, and I am delighted to see new opportunities emerging for alumni to connect through shared passions.
Throughout the year, our events program continued to bring members together across generations and professions. From our Young Professionals Networking Event and Women in Business initiatives to the Sursum Corda Society series, reunions and regional gatherings, these occasions continue to remind us of the remarkable breadth and strength of the Haileybury network. The launch of the Haileybury Voices podcast has further strengthened these connections, allowing alumni stories and experiences to be shared with our community wherever they may be in the world.
Behind the scenes, the OHA Council has continued its work to ensure the Association remains relevant and responsive to the needs of current and future alumni. I have been particularly pleased to welcome several new Councillors this year, including younger alumni and representation from Haileybury Rendall School. Their perspectives, enthusiasm and commitment will help shape the next chapter of the OHA and ensure our leadership reflects the diversity of our growing community.
We have also commenced an important review of the OHA’s value proposition and future direction. As our alumni community continues to expand across campuses, generations and geographies, it is essential that we continue to

listen, adapt and evolve. The feedback provided by members through surveys and conversations this year will help guide our planning and ensure the OHA remains a meaningful and valued part of alumni life for years to come.
I would like to thank my fellow Councillors, our club volunteers, and the dedicated OHA team for their commitment and service throughout the year. Their passion for our community and willingness to contribute their time and expertise is what makes so much of our work possible.
As we look ahead, I am excited by the opportunities before us. We will continue to strengthen connections across the global Haileybury community, create pathways for engagement and support, and build an Association that remains relevant, inclusive and welcoming to all alumni. Most importantly, we will continue to foster the spirit that has always defined the OHA: a community that looks after its own.

Treasurer’s Report
The Old Haileyburians Association derives the majority of its revenue from membership fees paid by families enrolling their children into Haileybury. The payment of a membership fee on enrolment provides the student with ongoing life membership of the OHA.
Income is also derived from the following sources;
• Events (including reunions, business events, sporting events etc)
• Sponsorship
• Dividends from investments
• Membership sales
The OHA aims to significantly subsidise the price of events for its members. Investment in our members is at the forefront of the Council’s decision making and this investment is inclusive of but not limited to;
• Website development
• Brand awareness
• OHA week
• Programs and initiatives such as Relocation Bursary, Community Grants, Entrepreneurship programs etc.
• OHA Clubs.
In 2025/26 result shows income of $ 422 k - $ 56 k more than last year. Enrolment income was up $ 31 k on last year or 11 % - 1,009 (last year 954).
For the year OHA recorded a deficit of $58,000, with the major increase in expenses being payroll tax contribution to the school, Brand Development, OHA Clubs, Relocation Bursary payments and OHA week.

The vision for the Old Haileyburians Association is to foster a deeply connected and inclusive community— one where every member feels valued, supported, and engaged.
We exist to create meaningful pathways that provide opportunity, facilitate connection, and strengthen the lifelong bonds between Haileyburians, no matter where in the world they may be. Our mission is to be recognised as one of the leading school alumni organisations in the country, achieved through a rich offering of services, events, and initiatives that keep our members connected.

FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The 2025/26 year marked another significant step forward for the Old Haileyburians Association as we continued to strengthen the ways in which alumni can connect, engage and support one another throughout their lifelong relationship with Haileybury.
Guided by our vision to remain relevant, valued and respected by the Haileybury community, the OHA focused on expanding both the breadth and depth of services available to members. The result has been a year characterised by innovation, stronger alumni engagement and the creation of new opportunities for connection across generations and professions.
A major highlight was the introduction of several new member-focused initiatives. The launch of OHA Rewards created a valuable platform connecting alumni with alumni-owned businesses, providing exclusive benefits to members while encouraging support within our community. The program has quickly established itself as another meaningful way for Old Haileyburians to stay connected and strengthen professional relationships.
Entrepreneurship and innovation also became a greater focus through the introduction of OHA Ignite. This exciting initiative provides alumni founders with access to funding, mentoring and the expertise of fellow Old Haileyburians, further demonstrating the OHA’s commitment to supporting members at every stage of their professional journey. We look forward to announcing the inaugural recipients of this exciting program during 2026.
Our events program remained a cornerstone of alumni engagement throughout the year. Milestone reunions once again brought classmates together to celebrate friendships that have endured for decades, while chapter events, networking functions, Generations Breakfasts, sporting events and signature OHA gatherings provided opportunities for members of all ages to reconnect with one another and with Haileybury. Professional networking events, including those designed specifically for young alumni, continued to attract strong participation and highlighted the value of the OHA community beyond the school gates.
The OHA’s extensive club network remains one of our greatest strengths. Across sporting, professional, cultural and special-interest clubs, volunteers continue to create welcoming communities that foster participation, friendship and shared purpose. The contribution of our club leaders and volunteers is invaluable and remains central to the success of the Association. In particular we congratulate the OHA Cricket Club whose on field success continues to amaze us all.
Recognition also remained an important focus during the year. Through the OHA Medal and Outstanding Young Alumni Awards we celebrated members whose achievements, service and leadership reflect the very best of the Haileybury community. These awards continue to showcase the remarkable impact Old Haileyburians are making across Australia and around the world. The OHA Medal was awarded for the 18th time to Professor Arnold Dix (OH 1981) whose speech and associated musical performance on stage at Aikman Hall had our staff and students in raptures.
As we look ahead, the OHA remains committed to evolving alongside our alumni community. The continued expansion of our programs, services and events reflects our determination to provide meaningful opportunities for connection, support and engagement, ensuring that all Old Haileyburians can continue to Stay Connected long after they leave Haileybury.

CLUBS
The OHA was delighted to launch two new clubs this year, the OHA Soccer Club and the OHA Walking Club, further expanding opportunities for Old Haileyburians to stay connected, remain active and build lifelong friendships.
The success of our clubs relies on the dedication of many volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes to ensure teams and events run smoothly throughout the year. At a time when volunteer participation continues to decline across society, we are especially grateful to those who generously give their time and expertise in support of these clubs. Their commitment helps foster the welcoming, inclusive and positive environment that makes our clubs such an important part of the Old Haileyburian community.

EVENTS
The OHA delivered a highly successful program of events between April 2025 and March 2026, with strong attendance and engagement across all offerings.
The Mornington Peninsula Luncheon and OHA Golf Day remained popular and sold out, showing their continued appeal with our alumni.
OHA Week in both Melbourne and at Haileybury Rendall School were fantastic successes and showcased the value of staying connected after graduation.
Throughout the year, our focus remained on delivering events and opportunities that were both relevant and engaging for our alumni. This commitment continues to ensure our members remain connected to each other and to the wider Haileybury community, strengthening the bonds that define the OHA.

Importantly, we wish to be able to care for our members when in need and it is the responsive and agile support that our members look up to us for.
We strive for excellence in communication, technology and engagement. It is important to us that we engage with all members of the Haileybury community, regardless where in the world they live, their interests and their professional pursuits. We also strive to support those who support us and in this way we give back to our Clubs, our leaders on OHA Council and our most engaged supporters.
We thank all of those who have supported the OHA in some way over the years.

OHA AWARDS
OHA MEDAL
The Old Haileyburians Association Medal is awarded annually to an Old Haileyburian in recognition and appreciation of exceptional achievement to the community beyond expectation in their field of endeavour. Given that there are now in excess of 22,000 members of the Old Haileyburians Association, to be awarded this medal is a significant achievement.
In 2025, the OHA Council were unanimous in their decision to award the OHA Medal to Professor Arnold Dix (OH 1981)
Arnold became a hero when he helped rescue 41 Indian workers from a tunnel collapse high in the Himalayas.
During the Silkyara Tunnel rescue in 2023, Arnold was the public face of the 17-day operation, declaring to the world from the beginning that the trapped workers would be rescued. Under his expert technical leadership and guidance, the operation switched to a slower, safer excavation technique after machinery failed – a mission-critical decision that prevented further collapse. Arnold’s optimistic attitude and calm approach built the confidence that the workers would come out alive.
An international tunnelling expert, Arnold established Underground Works Chambers, offering expert advice on high-risk subterranean infrastructure and safety regulation.
Arnold has worked as a geologist, lawyer and barrister. He’s also dabbled as a flower farmer, truck driver and welder.
Arnold never asked for payment for his role in the rescue in India. He showed the world that good people working together can achieve the impossible.
