2021 IMPACT REPORT LETTER FROM THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS Dear Supporters: Our 2021 Impact Report inside shows you the action that the Haig Point Foundation has taken in 2020, Including how we have raised awareness and funds to support our Mission. We wish to thank all of you for the generous support you have shown the Haig Point Foundation. As a background, following Hurricane Matthew cleanup on Daufuskie Island in 2017, the Haig Point Foundation was formulated, building a Board of Directors and filing the appropriate documents with the State of South Carolina and the I.R.S. We became a non-profit corporation in June of 2018, organized solely to support Daufuskie Island through the preservation of green space, community enhancements, and other special needs. That initial year of planning included drawing up our Vision Statement to direct our initiatives and the building of a website. In the beginning, the most important part of our Vision Statement was to fundraise while also raising awareness about the Foundation. By the end of 2020, at the conclusion of our drive for Founding Donors, we reached 96 (out of our initial goal of 100) and found a permanent place to thank all of them individually on our website and on a presentation board in the Clubhouse foyer. With funds raised from our Founding Donors, as well as the fundraisers held, the Haig Point Foundation was able to take action supporting the needs as seen by board members and the other non-profit organizations serving the island. We see these other non-profits as our partners helping to identify critical needs that we can help support. This proved to be of the utmost importance in 2020 when we responded to island needs due to the pandemic. From supporting testers and vaccination healthcare professionals brought over from Hilton Head to helping our non-profit partners provide food to those shut off from their ability to provide for themselves and their families, we put funds raised to good use right away. You will be able to see the Impact we have had on our Daufuskie Island community in the past year. Thank you for your generosity.
