HAFSA LAKHAL

Selected works | SEMESTER 5 2024 - 2025

This portfolio contains a carefully chosen selection of my work from the fifth semester of my architectural studies. All four project showcases an absolutely different developing design approach... materiality, space, human experience... And I hope you discover a piece of yourself in one of my projects. hafsa.lakhali@enaagadir.ac.ma

I enjoy investigating the connections between design, innovation, and architecture. My path demonstrates a never-ending desire to learn and a desire to push the boundaries of creativity I make an effort to create environments that tell stories and evoke strong feelings, whether through academic projects, contests, or competitions in which I have participated. Additionally, I am willing to contribute to large-scale projects and grow with an inspiring team!

EL BARRIO IDEASCOMPETITION

House that feels like “Home”

Status : Academic Project

Year : 2024

Typology : Residential - Housing

Softwares : Archicad - Sketchup - Lumion

VISION

For a couple and their autistic child who feels the world overstimulating, architecture should breathe with them and offer refuge without confinement. So "How to calm down" was born from silence. The kind that soothes, not isolates.

The projects l ght softens with the warm r s ng sun, textures, contrasts of shadows on the wh te surface, the scent of the gardens aromatic plants... Its wh te is not emptiness but a canva of calm, inviting the perception to flow freely and unburdened

BUILT TO LAST TO ERODE

ONE TON OF CONCRETE TYPICALLY PRODUCES ABOUT 0.8 TO 0.9 TONS OF CO2 EMISSIONS, RESULTING IN APPROXIMATELY 8% OF THE WORLD S ANTHROPOGENIC CO2 EMISSIONS, AND ABOUT 25% OF ALL INDUSTRY CARBON EMISSIONS.

Typology : 3D Visualisation

Softwares : Sketchup - D5 render

VISION

This image is a haunting portrayal of the paradox of modern architecture : a promising refuge yet trapping us in its toxicity. The rain (a symbol of cleansing and renewal) falls upon a shelter of cold, lifeless concrete, a material once seen as a beacon of progress but now a silent accomplice in environmental decay. A ladder offers escape, but to where? Into the rain, into uncertainty, into another layer of artificiality?

This is architecture as a question, not an answer. A critique of a world built in concrete. A material meant to shield us may, in the end, entomb us.
