Sudbury Town Council win the Suffolk Council of the Year policy commitment to making sure all ages enjoy quality of life in a safe environment�. Councillors and staff alike are very proud of this achievement and continue to work hard to ensure that Sudbury remains a vibrant and healthy community. Residents are always welcome at our monthly council meetings where there is a chance to discuss any issues which may be causing concern or ideas for improving the quality of life in our town.

The Town Council was delighted to be awarded the title of ‘Suffolk Council of the Year‘ at an awards ceremony hosted by the Suffolk Association of Local Councils. Each year the competition has a different theme – last year was about supporting youth in the community where Sudbury was runner up and this year it was supporting older people in the community. Some of the judges’ comments regarding Sudbury’s entry included: “This council had thought of everything�; “They have a Christmas lunch party and take care of over-indulgers�; “They use sponsorship and staff commitment to ensure success and sustainability and to offer free events where possible�; “They signpost older residents to events, clubs and support organisations�; “They even have a scheme to support clothing for the over 70s, provide bus pass support and their Mayor even takes the time to visit care homes to try and make sure they are connected to all people within their town�; “They have a
