The key to solving homelessness in Sudbury Babergh District Council is throwing open the doors of a newly converted property in Sudbury this week – providing a safe place to stay for up to eight people in need of temporary accommodation. 4HEĂ’&IRS Ă’INĂ’7ALDINGÂľELDĂ’2OAD Ă’HASĂ’BEENĂ’CONVERTEDĂ’INTOĂ’AĂ’HOUSEĂ’OFĂ’MULTIPLEĂ’ occupation to add to the council’s temporary accommodation stock, providing more essential accommodation to help those at risk of homelessness. By increasing temporary accommodation in the area, the council hopes to REDUCEĂ’THEĂ’NUMBERĂ’OFĂ’PEOPLEĂ’HAVINGĂ’TOĂ’BEĂ’HOUSEDĂ’FURTHERĂ’AÂľELDĂ’kĂ’STOPPINGĂ’ them from being separated from friends, family and local support in the midst of a crisis. Cllr Jan Osbourne, Babergh District Council’s cabinet member for housing JOINEDĂ’ MEMBERSĂ’ OFĂ’ THEĂ’ COUNCILgSĂ’ HOMELESSNESSĂ’ TEAMĂ’ TOĂ’ CARRYĂ’ OUTĂ’ AĂ’ ÂľNALĂ’ inspection of the former sheltered scheme managers home this week, with THEĂ’ÂľRSTĂ’RESIDENTSĂ’DUEĂ’TOĂ’MOVEĂ’INĂ’FROMĂ’ THĂ’*ULY Cllr Osbourne said: “Our teams have done an incredible job over recent weeks, ensuring the most vulnerable people in our districts have been kept safely off the streets and helped into accommodation. We are committed to building on
