Griff switching our lights on! The Christmas Lighting Up Event will be held on Sunday 1st December from 3pm to 6pm in the Market Place. A stage with live performances through the afternoon will be sited on the Market Place. A traditional Fairground will be in Toppesfield Hall Car Park. Santa Claus will be making a visit along with some special friends – see if you can find them. Stalls and refreshments will be available in the Ansell Centre. At 5.30pm Griff Rhys Jones will be switching on the lights of the main tree and carols will be sung accompanied by the Elmsett Brass Band. Following the demise of the Town Forum, this year is the final year that this event will be funded with money raised by the volunteers. Over the past twelve years a number of residents have been involved in organising events from Craft Fairs which have provided the funds to put on Street Fairs/Music Events etc. They have ensured that over the years enough money has been banked to put on the Christmas Event – this year’s will cost in the region of £3,000. On behalf of the Town Council I should like to thank them all for their hard work and efforts to promote the town of Hadleigh and for the free events organised for Hadleigh residents.
