Drama
Drama is about creating an inclusive community and developing a love of the Arts, and that is what we look to inspire within pupils at Habs with our Drama provision. Working collaboratively, inside and outside the classroom, we encourage pupils to become theatre-makers developing their skills, confidence and experience. All elements of theatre are explored and pupils have the opportunity to take leading roles backstage as stage managers, lighting and sound technicians, costume.
For productions we often collaborate with industry professionals - including writers, video designers, film makers and movement directors. As part of our provision we often host lighting and sound design workshops to support our curriculum and organised workshops for examination pupils with leading theatre companies and practitioners
Pupils perform in a range of plays often creating new devised work or adaptations of classic stories. After where we end up change to: Small scale workshop performances take place each term and each year , we also participate in the Coram Shakespeare Schools festival and the National Theatre’s New Views writing programme
