Friends, At the heart of Habitat for Humanity of New Castle County’s mission is empowerment.

With more than 7,600 families here living in substandard housing, families are forced to live in undesirable conditions to make ends meet.

Habitat’s unique program of sweat equity, 0% mortgages, financial and home maintenance counseling, and community involvement works to end the cycle of financial dependence on social programs and provides homeowners with an opportunity for affordable mortgage.

In our roles as Board President and Chief Executive Officer, we continue to be both humbled and grateful for the high level of support Habitat has received from the community in which we’ve sought to serve over the past three decades.

During the course of the 2014-15 fiscal year, the organization has been on an upward trajectory with regard to the work we’re doing in the areas of construction of Habitat homes, fundraising and ReStore growth.

This report will provide you with its detailed audited financial data for the 2014-15 fiscal year.

As a snapshot, during this fiscal year Habitat NCC has built nine brand new homes in the Prices Run neighborhood and will have completed 15 more in New Castle County.

Through its Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative and with the help of volunteers, community partners and sponsors, we are working to provide decent affordable housing, while taking blighted and abandoned properties

out of the neighborhood, rehabilitating them, and offering them for sale to our partner families at 0% interest.

A Brush With Kindness (ABWK) has helped boost neighborhood pride with the eight home repairs completed and more in the works as part of the Eastside Rising initiative.

Habitat NCC has also experienced success in the planning and execution of development events such as Habitat in Motion, the annual President’s Award Dinner and Golf Outing.

And to top things off, the ReStore has broken monthly sales records that culminated with a historic total of $1 million in revenue for the year. The ReStore has done so well, the grand opening of a second store in Middletown is imminent.
