Angling Services Ireland Ăš stata fondata nel 2001 da Bodo Funke.
Dopo essersi trasferito nel suo paese dei sogni, lâIrlanda, dalla Germania nel 1999, ha avviato unâattivitĂ di turismo di pesca, dove ha trasformato la sua passione in una professione. Insieme alla flotta iniziale di barche, nel 2011 Ăš stata aggiunta lâattuale barca da guida allâavanguardia e, nel 2017, insieme a sua moglie Tina, hanno avviato un B&B per poter offrire comodi alloggi e deliziose colazioni ai loro ospiti pescatori. Ă a due passi dalla cittadina di Boyle, nel sistema filoviario del lago Shannon, che con le sue decine di laghi collegati crea un paradiso per la pesca del luccio.
Bodo Ăš una guida qualificata con il certificato Marine & Countryside e ha oltre 20 anni di esperienza. Ă membro del team Pro Staff di Humminbird/Minnkota UK & Ireland. Ha pescato in molte parti dâEuropa e ha partecipato a importanti eventi di pesca, accumulando una vasta conoscenza ed esperienza in molti anni di pesca e guida.
Angling services opera nella zona di Sligo, dove sono presenti innumerevoli laghi. Fra questi il
Lough Gara, conosciuto nei tempi antichi come Loch Techet, ma gli OâGara, durante la loro proprietĂ del distretto di Coolavin dal XIII secolo circa, ribattezzarono il lago âLoch UĂ Ghadhraâ.
Lough Gara si trova principalmente nel sud della contea di Sligo con una parte piĂč piccola del lago nella contea di Roscommon.
Da nord a sud il lago si estende per circa quattro miglia. La sezione piĂč ampia Ăš di circa due miglia e mezzo. Il lago si trova a sud-ovest dei monti Curlew, con la cittĂ di Ballaghaderreen situata quasi quattro miglia a sud-ovest e la cittĂ di Boyle posizionata poco piĂč di quattro miglia dal suo angolo nord-orientale.

Altro lago molto interessante della zona Ăš il lago Key. Lâarea intorno a Lough Key e la vicina cittĂ di Boyle, nella contea di Roscommon, Ăš stata disabitata per migliaia di anni.
Il lago ha una superficie di diversi chilometri e contiene oltre trenta isole boscose, tra cui Castle Island, Trinity Island, Orchard Island, Stag Island, Bullock Island e Drummanâs Island. Su Castle Island sono state costruite diverse strutture nel corso dei secoli.
Altro lago, perfetto per la pesca con la mosca di maggio Ăš il lago Arrow. Si trova a circa 24 chilometri a sud-est di Sligo e 6 km a nord-ovest di Boyle. I monti Bricklieve sorgono a ovest del lago. Guardando verso lâisola Inishmore Lough Arrow Ăš lungo circa 6 km da nord a sud e largo 2 km. Il lago ha quattro isole: Annaghgowla, Inishmore, Inishbeg e Muck.

Angling Services opĂšre dans la rĂ©gion de Sligo, oĂč se trouvent dâinnombrables lacs, notamment le Lough Gara. Connu dans lâAntiquitĂ© sous le nom de Loch Techet, il fut rebaptisĂ© âLoch UĂ Ghadhraâ par les OâGara, alors quâils possĂ©daient le district de Coolavin Ă partir du XIIIĂšme siĂšcle environ. Le Lough Gara est situĂ© principalement au sud du comtĂ© de Sligo, avec une plus petite partie du lac dans le comtĂ© de Roscommon.
Du nord au sud, le lac sâĂ©tend sur environ quatre miles. La section la plus large mesure environ deux miles et demi. Bodo Funke founded Angling Services Ireland in 2001, after he moved from Germany to his dream country, Ireland, in 1999.
His vision was to start a fishing tourism business, which could turn his passion into a profession. After installing the initial fleet of boats, their current state-ofthe-art guide boat was added in 2011. He and his wife, Tina, opened their own B&B in 2017, to offer comfortable accommodations and delicious breakfasts to their fishing guests near the town of Boyle, on the Lake Shannon river system, which creates a paradise for pike fishing with its dozens of connected lakes.
Bodo is a qualified guide with the Marine & Countryside certificate, and has over 20 years of experience guiding anglers from all over the world. He is also a member of the Humminbird/Minnkota UK & Ireland Pro Staff team. He has fished in many parts of Europe and participated in major fishing events, thus accumulating vast knowledge and experience.
Angling Services operates in the Sligo area, where there are countless lakes. These include Lough Gara, known in ancient times as Loch Techet. However, the OâGara, during their ownership of the Coolavin district from around the 13th century, renamed the lake, âLoch UĂ Ghadhra.â Lough Gara is located mainly in the south of County Sligo, with a smaller part of the lake in County Roscommon. From north to south the lake extends for about 4 miles. The widest section is about 2.5 miles. The lake lies to the south-west of the Curlew Mountains, with the town of Ballaghaderreen located almost 4 miles to the south-west and the town of Boyle positioned just over 4 miles from its north-eastern corner. Water is supplied to the lake by the Lung River from the south-western corner, and the Breedoge River from the southeastern corner. From the upper main lake, the exit is through the north-eastern corner at Cuppanagh, and the channel has a section about a mile wide, called Lower Lough Gara. From that point the flow of water is called the Boyle River, which flows past the town of Boyle into Lough Key and then into the Shannon. The lake has numerous islands.
The town of Boyle, reachable with a walk from the Angling Services lodge, offers all the services of the classic Irish village, with typical pubs and restaurants. Key Lake is another very interesting lake in the area. The area around Lough Key and the nearby town of Boyle, County Roscommon, has been uninhabited for thousands of years.
The lake has a surface of several kilometres and contains over 30 forested islands, including Castle Island, Trinity Island, Orchard Island, Stag Island, Bullock Island, and Drummanâs Island. Various structures have been built on Castle Island over the centuries.
Lake Arrow is another lake, perfect for fly fishing in May. This lake is located approximately 24 km south-east of Sligo and 6 km north-west of Boyle. The Bricklieve Mountains rise to the west of the lake. Looking towards Inishmore Island, Lough Arrow is approximately 6 km long from north to south and 2 km wide. The lake has four islands: Annaghgowla, Inishmore, Inishbeg and Muck.

Angling Services ist in der Gegend von Sligo tĂ€tig, wo es unzĂ€hlige Seen gibt. Dazu gehört der Lough Gara, der in der Antike als Loch Techet bekannt war, aber die O'Gara benannten den See wĂ€hrend ihres Besitzes des Bezirks Coolavin ab etwa dem 13. Jahrhundert in âLoch UĂ Ghadhraâ um. Lough Gara liegt hauptsĂ€chlich im SĂŒden der Grafschaft Sligo, ein kleinerer Teil des Sees liegt in der Grafschaft Roscommon.
Von Norden nach SĂŒden erstreckt sich der See etwa vier Meilen. Der breiteste Abschnitt ist etwa zweieinhalb Meilen lang. Der See liegt sĂŒdwestlich der Curlew Mountains, wobei die Stadt Ballaghaderreen fast vier Meilen sĂŒdwestlich und die Stadt Boyle etwas mehr als vier Meilen von seiner nordöstlichen Ecke entfernt liegt.
Die Wasserversorgung des Sees erfolgt durch den Lung River, der an der sĂŒdwestlichen Ecke mĂŒndet, und durch den Breedoge River, der an der sĂŒdöstlichen Ecke in den See mĂŒndet.
Vom oberen Hauptsee erfolgt der Ausgang durch die nordöstliche Ecke bei Cuppanagh, wobei der Kanal einen etwa eine Meile breiten Abschnitt hat, der Lower Lough Gara genannt wird. Von diesem Punkt an wird der Wasserfluss Boyle River genannt, der an der Stadt Boyle vorbei in den Lough Key und dann in den Shannon flieĂt. Der See hat zahlreiche Inseln.
