Former British soldier, Richard Allen, journeyed some 3000 miles across the Atlantic Ocean to raise awareness about the Commonwealth, an international association of 53 countries, nearly all of them former colonies of the British Empire. He ended his journey on Wednesday evening when he landed on the shores of Guyana. His solo voyage around the world lasted about three months and he visited countries like France, Spain, Morocco, Italy, Egypt, Jordon, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela, Colombia, and Trinidad and Upon his arrival, Allen was welcomed by Supriya Singh-Bodden of the Guyana Foundation, United Kingdom High Commissioner to Guyana Gregg Quinn and British Security Advisor to President David Granger, Retired Col. Russ Combe.
